If it's a program that you didn't install the it's bloatware. Are we clear?

Strange, but I have 10 and I didn't get Candy Crush installed..
I don't know what prompts it to be installed, but on one of my experimental installations it appeared when I made the mistake of installing my LAN driver early on and hadn't yet disabled the automatic updates.

Also had a bunch of Minecraft stuff appear, more rubbish I've no desire to have on my PC :/

I really need to find out more about the options for (not) auto-updating drivers and programs. I was also stung by an automatically downloaded display driver. That's the sort of thing that users should have absolute control over, will MS updates ever overrider a specifically chosen older GeForce driver, or say Daniel_K drivers for Creative soundcards?

I did get an offer to install Candy Crush but I just put the don't show again and it didn't install. I'm just curious what happened in your situation.

No idea, I nuked the copy as I was more concerned with figuring out other issues. Right now I have a basic install of 10 waiting for me to add drivers and updates, when I do I'll have to pay closer attention to what is added and when.

That's a great idea and I hope you don't have any more issues.

We accepted a free gift (Win-10) that came with strings attached. No surprise. It's how the world operates today. Thankfully, we also have the freedom to change to another operating system, if we get fed up with the overall Win10 package at some point.

Or don't accept this "free gift". There is no need to install Win 10 if you have a well running system.
