Jimbo is spot on. IE, and the other browsers, all support extensions/add-ons. Edge was not ready for prime time. Not just due to the extensions issue, but functionality in general. The browser is an ad fest for every site I visit with it.(Even with adobe turned off.) It would have been better too if you could remove Edge. That way the Insiders etc. could use it and provide feedback, and the rest of us could remove it like we can IE.

Yes for example when I used to use google search, you tube, also several other sites and windows 8 forum
But not since dumping IE11 I have also dumped google search in favour of Bing.
Also every thing works as it should for me with Edge can get to where I want to so that is all I worry about.
You tube I am on a lot also Net Flix and they don't stutter or freeze like they did with IE11 or Chrome.
I have Acer, HP, Toshiba laptops and they where all new and every single one used to have some problem with IE11 now all on Edge no problems since
Being as 2 HP laptops are on 24/7 for emails and business cannot afford to have them freeze otherwise my grand daughter will lose money.
Buying and selling cars, burger vans etc
But what paulsalter is alluding to is that you paint EVERY other browser/OS combination other than Windows 10/Edge as performing badly, and create the notion that everything before Edge was crap. That simply isn't truthful, and if it was your experience (which I'm sure it may have been), then there must have been a faulty setup somewhere.

what on all my laptops running 8.1 then 10
When all laptop are not a year old and came with windows 8.1 pre installed on them.
All straight out the box all from Staples with boxes sealed.
So you are saying that every manufacturer all put same fault on.

Fact is that you have a problem somewhere. Your scenario is unheard of.

    Hi,

personally I am only using edge on my laptop running windows 10 pro. it is very nice to use a browser that doesn't crash every 5 minutes like internet explorer does. so far edge is as good as apple's safari on my mac desktop.
IME IE11 only started to crash since Edge was introduced and it's getting worse with every single upgrade of W10. Edge is pretty useless for professional use.

    Just my opinion though.

Yeah I really have never had issues with IE11 on Windows 8.1 or 7. And even on Windows 10 TP and 10240 it ran well (I will say for a Metro app, Edge ran nice, but even then, I didn't mind IE on Metro either.)

In fact, the only time I recall IE 11 giving me ANY sort of trouble was when I added AbBlock Plus to it as an add-on, but that was my doing.

I am still running Windows 7 and use predominantly IE. I never had a problem.

You can never get a second chance at a first impression. IMHO MS should have waited before releasing Edge to the general public. It's still to early in the development stage. As far as I'm concerned Edge belongs in the Insider Program and not in the RTM version of Win 10. If Edge fails MS can only blame themselves.

I never had any issue running Edge myself when I tried it. Maybe the question should be, "What is hTconeM9user doing right that makes his Edge implementation work better than IE?"
