Intresting, Windows 10 is better, but not as good as 7 as of now.But seems like Windows 10 is on a good road ahead.

Hmmm Brink, you know there are TONS of people that don't really watch what they're clicking. Microsoft is definitely taking advantage of that. Truth is, objectively, Windows 10 is a luke-warm success. Mobile Devices are where it's at, and Microsoft just isn't there like it should have been. I prefer Windows based PCs myself, but I say that understanding I'm in the ever increasing minority. A lot of the new user base is there because of a free upgrade, some curiosity, and for no other reason. XP was a real success. Windows 95 was a blockbuster success, and I'd say Windows 7 is top of mind for most (er, that's when Windows is still top of mind).
There are any number of "free" and "shareware" programs out there that it takes a single click to download and install onto your computer. Within these "no cost upfront" programs are many sub programs that will be installed if you don't uncheck the box.

I don't see an uproar happening about these nefarious activities, but let someone who doesn't pay attention, who clicks through everything in order to get something free from Microsoft wind up with Windows 10 and immediately "*Microsoft has intentionally installed Windows 10 without permission!*"

What's more, even some of the denizens here, who should know better, will believe the worst about Microsoft.

    Sheesh! Pay attention, folks!

I disagree. Windows 10 is much, much better than Windows 7; however, as with Windows 7, there are a few things I could live without. :)

Actually yes Wynonna. I expect better from Microsoft than say Auslogics or IOBit (who bundle such software) so that "uproar" is justifiable. I don't hate Microsoft. I don't believe the worst about them at all. Hey I loved past Windows versions, and that was in the late 90s (when they actually were committing anti-competitive practices towards PC distributors, especially to kill off OS/2), but I loved some of their offering from that period.

I am viewing all of this from a much more balanced perspective than you think. This really isn't a "I hate Windows 10" tirade. I have said before, if down the road it offers a killer feature, I may find myself moving to Windows 10. One never knows what tomorrow brings.

Where did you get that one from. I run both 7 and 10 and do not really see any difference. If I believe the reports, 10 see,s to be a bit buggier than 7.

Not really sure what the fuse is all about. . .I have seven on a 2009 imac 27" in boot camp that is always attempting to get me to upgrade it to ten, albeit because I have the ability to first read through all the updates prior to deciding which ones I want to install there is little chance that I would install windows 10. . .that may be just me. . .:)

You must be smarter than the average bear, Lee. :) Those of us who have learned the hard way by having to remove crapware from our computers tend to read before we start pushing buttons.

I have a friend who has a computer shop down the road from me whose time is mostly taken up with cleaning crapware/viruses/PUGs, etc. off his client's computers. I'd guess about 50% are repeat customers.

I have got to believe that there is something missing in the "optional" W10 update process because I have seen two people now who upgraded only because they had no choice. The screen was taken over with a notification to install W10 with no option to cancel out. One ended up with a borked upgrade, requiring a "revert to factory" condition. The other is still baking....

I think a lot of people are hopefully upgrading because they want to I don't think they are being forced too. I wasn't forced to do what I did.
