Metro ie I'm not sure what that is
Metro or Modern it's all the same pretty much the only difference is have a large square live title instead of simple pinned to the taskbar :/
If I recall, MS tried to have a desktop IE and a metro version. I never use either so this is just a guess by me at this point.
Yes, there is a Metro version and the traditional desktop version of IE in Windows 8. If you launch IE from the Metro Tile you get the Metro version. Use the IE shortcut on the taskbar and you get the desktop version. I don't like the Metro version all that much. The is a setting in IE that you can check mark that will have the Metro tile launch the desktop version instead of the Metro version. I've done it.

    hi guys,

well a more modern taskbar would be nice. Return of the Charms Bar (without having to hit the Windows key and C) would also be nice.

Reactivated the Metro and now i will stay with it as long as MS let's me.

I forgot about that issue, my keyboard doesn't have any indicator light on it. It's all on screen notices. I'm not sure if that's a Logitech thing or not? My keyboard is a wireless K350.

EDIT: All I see is added features mentioned, nothing about bug fixes. Your guess is as good as mine.

Good question, I hope it is but at this point it's really not a big deal or deal breaker for me at least. The only time I might check out the num lock light is when I boot up and once the num lock is on I don't check it again,.

I think that the issue has to do with the on/off button that each keyboard uses. If it's the num-lock then it might not work otherwise it might. I have a Corsair K40 and my on/off is separate from the num-lock.

    Future build
This build has yet to be released, below, we write down the confirmed new features (due to leaks, announcements and reliable sources). However, some of the features listed below might not make it.

    Continuum

    • Continuum has been added

    Desktop

    • Dropdown lists have been given a revamp
    • There are new animations for maximalization and restore
    • Cortana is enabled by default
    • The taskbar has a new design
    • The search button now is a search bar by default
    • New backgrounds
Not too much going on here.

    Media support

    • System-wide support for the FLAC audio format
    Of limited interest...

    WinRT

    • The settings charm has been removed
    • Settings fly-out now appears within an app
    • The titlebar has been revamped, full screen is now on the bar instead of in an option menu
    • A lot of apps dropped the "Permissions" tab (when it's empty)
    • Apps can be installed on an SD
Of no interest at all to me...

    Internet Explorer

    • Improved support for ECMAScript 6
    • Improved support for ECMAScript non-standard
    Yawn....

    Apps

    • Settings has been revamped with a new interface
      • Multiple new settings have been added
      • Multiple other panels have been improved with more functionality, like Battery saver, Storage Sense, and more
      • Windows Update has been extended with a lot of new functionalities to replace the Control Panel counterpart

    • Calculator has been revamped
    • Alarms has been revamped
      • There is now a world clock function

    • Xbox has been revamped
    • Get started has been revamped
    • Photos has been added as an app (not to confuse with Photos)
    • Store beta has been added as an app (not to confuse with Store)
    • Maps has been revamped
    • Windows Feedback has been revamped
    • Sound recorder has been revamped
    • Lumia Camera beta has been added as an app
    • Xbox has been added as an app (not to confuse with Games)
Will have to see...as of my look @ 9901, cpl settings replaced do *not* offer the same degree of functionality as their explorer.exe counterparts. And, some of the explorer.exe stuff, which was better and allowed for more control of the environment, has been *deprecated*...! To replace these features with a different UI that is less capable and inclusive than the explorer.exe components on which they are based makes no sense to me at all...(crossing fingers that this won't happen)

    And further

    • The Windows kernel has been updated from version 6.4 to 10.0
Let's hope there's compatibility with the 6.x kernel scheme, else changing the number to 10.x will break some programs.

Has anyone heard as to whether or not Microsoft is going to extend the time-out on the previews to beyond 4/2015? Maybe that will be covered on the 21st. Since they've announced that 10 won't ship until the fall, it seems rather crazy to have the previews time out 5-6 months before the OS ships--especially in light of the fact that they've already said that most likely a user will be able to upgrade from the preview to the shipping version.
