Are Registry Cleaners Still Needed on Windows 10?

There are many programs that purport to clean up and optimize system performance. While Microsoft does not endorse the use of these tools with Windows, we do not view them as unwanted or malicious.

Just a little update from Microsoft, surprising actually. Maybe because more reliable cleaners are emerging, like:

Presently I don't even use Eusing or any other similar app like any of the ones seen on the site there. While I may see a good number of programs installs and quite a bit less as far as program removals I won't have any need to worry about the 10 side of the dual boot with 7 here while 7 is in need of a clean install which has some obvious clutter to find in the registry without any doubt.

Simply put too much emphasis has been placed on cleaner and tweaker which can amount to clutter when you start adding them all one and then find more and more you are better off without most of them to begin with! The so called performance tweaking is another joke on top of all that since the more startups you have the longer the delays are for starting up and shutting Windows down.

I would say reg cleaning apps are generally outdated and obsolete in most cases at this time in contrast to how poorly written installers were at times back when XP/Vista being new coming up from the ME debackle and Legacy/2000 time frame left overs in the system reg were a common place occurance! Companies learning this started providing speciallized removal tools for their softwares in order to keep their customer based satisfied.

The 3rd apps like Reg Cure were a ticket simply to exploit on that type of problems before the vast majority of softwares especially paid for apps still some seeing removers available got their acts together to see working installers and easy to uninstall options as well as not being a stubborn mule for the Programs & Features uninstall option previously having been the Add/Remove programs back when.

Now when going to download a ton of freewares to try out as I have seen over the years you will run right into bad apps! at times where you simply want them gone in a hurry. The programming would be found to be poorly written but was a freebie to look at. You still can run into an occasional tough to remove but more so now a rare but not impossible situation. That's why you also have the System Restore feature that was brought in with Vista years back to get that crap off!

The question here should be "Were registry cleaners ever needed on any windows" - and the answer is an empirical NO!!.

The only registry cleaner you need is a copy of Regedit and the knowledge to use it (if you do not have the second item then Don't bother with the First)

I must admit that there is something that I do like about registry cleaners, they've made me a load of money over the years, fixing the systems totally borked by them

Problem is that they don't actually clean anything important, needed or not, good or bad. Keeping registry clean by proper program uninstallation may do much more good. All Ccleaner finds on my system is some obsolete entries from internet sites that still use SS.

What's here to make my system better ? Not even worth spending a mouse button click on it.
