Now this is good news for sure!! Well for me at least.. I want and will get a copy of Win10 when it comes out next year,

I installed the Win 10 preview so I could test my recording studio software (Sonar X3), and it installed and appears to be working properly. But I won't use Win10 as my "production" system - its strictly for testing and seeing what it is and how it works. When the Win 10 RTM comes out I'll install it as a complete new install.
I installed the Win 10 preview this past Friday. Got updates Saturday (system still worked OK), got more updates Sunday and wound up with a problem that I couldn't correct until I did a "refresh". As this is still a Beta OS things like this are expected. I also expect to crash with some future updates, so trying to use it as a "production system" is out. I see a post now of a user that experienced an Explorer problem after some updates and is looking for a fix, instead of just reinstalling, as the "refresh" didn't help his problem. Reinstalling with a Beta release, to me is no big deal.

Back from vacation to Miami which is a great city.
If ever i want to learn Spanish, i will definitly move to Miami.....

? Am I misunderstanding this statement? Does this mean that 1½ million users (or more if you include the Windows 7 users who took advantage of the offer)will get a free copy of Windows 10. There has to be an activation key in the equation there somewhere.
Or maybe the current wild rumor that Windows 10 will be free, is not a dream.

Not a free RTM, but that you will be able to update/upgrade to RTM from preview without losing anything. :)

One reason I won't install W10 TP on my real PC, is I thought that I'd need to obliterate it and replace it with the official version (at some later date).
This news may encourage more people to install W10 TP on their real PCs.
I hate installing and uninstalling software (e.g. trialware).
I only want to install programs, use them and update them if required.
Since people have reported all sorts of weird and disturbing issues with b9879, I won't be investing any time in rearranging my real PC just yet.
IMO, the preview trend has been on the wrong trajectory with the last 2 updates (i.e. excellent, broken, broken).
I'll wait and see if MS can get W10 back on track.
As another member posted, MS needs to fix the broken stuff, before they cram in more new features.
There is still plenty of time for them to go insane and totally screw it up.

When I do go to a full fledged W-10 it will be a clean install.
I never did trust/like upgrades or the like. It does take longer but it's a Clean Install.

I'm still not sure I'll upgrade to 10 when it goes final. If I do it will be a clean install on a SSD.

MoreIf you’re running Windows 10 Technical Preview on your computer, there’s no need to worry that you might lose all your files when the stable build of the OS comes out as Microsoft is working to make it possible to upgrade to RTM when it becomes available.
Gabriel Aul, the Microsoftie who always keeps us up to date with everything related to Windows 10, revealed in a short tweet a couple of hours ago that upgrades to RTM from the Technical Preview branch were very likely to be possible next year.
And still, nothing is sure right now because Aul points out that this is Microsoft’s “intent,” so in case something goes wrong until Windows 10 development is completed, this plan could change.
