The Best Antivirus for Windows 10 Revealed

Hi All,
I thought I'd give Avira a try, the good thing is it's free..who knows, I might actually like it. Previously, I had been using this :
360 Total Security: Free Antivirus Protection | Virus Scan Removal for Windows, Mac and Android to be honest..it contained too much software for me.

in past years I would intentionally let a rather nasty worm loose in order to test just how well any program would work and sad to say didn't find so many that good. The updated versions for some of those not so good doers however has looked a bit more favorable in recent years simply since they invested in better filtering processes which will put a hammer down once something tries to spread.

Those are software types that will include their own form of firewall or process monitoring features over others however. They wouldn't allow the same bugs these days to run amock and recode loose files you have tucked away in different folder for self replication as you saw several years back as long as their definitions are updated on a regular basis.

I've happily used AVG FREE, since it was first released, years ago. It always did a great job of keeping my PC safe.
But lately it's been getting so overloaded with popups and their own ads, that it was driving me nuts. So I used the AVG Removal Tool to remove it, and I re-engaged "Windows Defender". That's a much better program than it used to be. When used with a few more Anti-Spyware and Anti-Malware programs, a decent level of security can be attained.
I've found "Super Anti-Spyware" to be a 'Must Have'. I use the FREE version. (of course) :)

I ran AVG for years but still found it lacked a great deal. The AVG Pro would be that company's better option over even their regular paid for 2yr. deal. While the program has always been well written it unfortunately had been lacking what is seen offered elsewhere.

Overall most spyware and other removers only work after the fact and not before! This is why two leading factors always seem to come into play as far as having any actual preventative measures in place before the bugs arrive! The Common Sense factor will always be the Uno Numero #1 from the start regardless.

Your second of course as far as software is concerned is getting into one that does actually filter things on the web. Little add on filters can seem cozy but lack integration into the much more effective preventative as well as detection and removal program. When you have to shut things down in order to get onto an even totally safe site then you know an "Overprotective Nanny" is working overtime for you! And it doesn't have to cost a fortune either.

Been there done that, but tried 360 Total Security Essentials instead. Basically a lighter version, take a look it may just be what you're looking for.

I would just remove it and stick with Defender for now.

BitDefender Free is what I was hearing about from a former Symantec security analyst. Norton previously having the Symantec System Works was like installing the Encyclopedia Britanica as far as how that was labeled as total bloatware! Yet the Norton Internet Security updated over the years seems to get much better hearsay.

Now for something non intrusive as far as resources that's where VIPRE comes in. It will show a quick popup notication when a schedduled scan starts and that's about it besides putting something into quarantine. You won't even notice it running with a video recording or pc gaming session going on as far as staying hidden in the background with very light feet!
