Which option did you use when going to upgrade over the 10240? With 10 already activated once why even bother with the upgrade? When going for the TH2 upgrades here both physical and VMs upgrades were from the 10586 Insider Preview direct to the 10586 with all going smooth being the same build with a few minor changes on the general release.

With the MC tool or going to the Tech Bench page you can download and save the updated 4 in 1 iso and boot from that live once on flash drive or optical media for a good clean install. I just saw the 10240 combination flash drives changed to the TH2 by deletion of the files while the flash drives remain bootable and simply extracted the iso contents to each drive. Those will now simply be the updated keys until the next build arrives.

I was using the current Media Creation Tool to upgrade within 10240, boy, did that goofed up , on my part .

Here I simply allowed the upgrade through the Windows updates having already seen the 10586 Insider Preview version upgrade over the 10240 on the physical drives as well as two of the three VMs. One of the three was the 10576 Home edition Insider build so all three VMs would see the TH2.

I should mention here while I am at it for someone not able to upgrade over a previous version they can still download 10 and would need to buy the license either at the MS store or having grabbed a BlacK Friday discount at Newegg saved $20 on the 32bit/64bit Pro dvd. At the MS store you would see 10 on flash drive there.

Well I had to put my "2 cents" in!

A year ago I would have been looking for other devices? and not any Windows deals at Newegg. This year however I wanted to see if there was going to be any discount and that turned out to be a full version disk seen there rather then the old two dvd disk set one for the 32bit and the other for the 64bit. Both are now on one disk or flash drive depending on where you buy and which option besides direct download they offer. Could have used this for the laptop that was upgraded since that requires optical media!

I did the MCT last evening and picked the USB choice, got both x32 and x64 setups on an 8GB Camera card.
    The files:
Volume in drive P is ESD-USB
    Volume Serial Number is 3CC0-9B2C

    Directory of P:\

    12/04/2015 11:54 PM <DIR> boot
    12/04/2015 11:54 PM <DIR> efi
    12/04/2015 11:54 PM <DIR> x64
    12/05/2015 12:03 AM <DIR> x86
    03/30/2015 06:13 PM 43 autorun.inf
    10/29/2015 09:08 PM 400,228 bootmgr
    10/29/2015 08:33 PM 1,147,736 bootmgr.efi
    12/05/2015 01:06 PM 0 dir.txt
    10/29/2015 08:08 PM 79,552 setup.exe
    5 File(s) 1,627,559 bytes
    4 Dir(s) 2,043,457,536 bytes free

The Setup.exe files [3, 1 in x64 and 1 in x86] all show the same version:

If you really want see what version you have, from an elevated command prompt run:
    DISM.exe /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:G:\x64\sources\install.esd /Index:1

The path in red would be the path to the install.esd or install.wim on the downloaded USB. Run it on both the x64 and x86 install.wim or install.esd files, and also run it with Index:1 and Index:2. Index:3 should give you an error.

Both the 32bit and 64bit will automatically be showing them as the same version since the kernel is the one thing different not the build overall. You simply have the 10586 in both 32bit or 64bit flavors. Your choice there. :)

Using your command this is what I get for the x64 file, the x86 appeared to be the same:
