And did it successfully install okay? Are all your pre-installed programs/settings intact? It never showed for me last night in windows updates here in London. Am hoping when I'm back from work this evening it'll show up. Think it's been handled badly by MS. Some clarification on the roll out should be forthcoming. Lots of borked installation attempts too from what I've been reading. If this is how it's going to be every 4-6 months when they update that doesn't seem great for the user base
Just been reading thru all the posts here, where the heck are all those troubles coming from ? Believe it or not, this windows I'm om now are the same ones that started with W7 Sp1, upgraded to W8, updated to 8.1, upgraded to 10240 Retail and few days ago to 10586 and everything is working fine. Insider version I sometimes installed clean, sometimes upgraded but this one is basically W7 upgraded to 10586 despite a lot of HW and SW changes during that time. Few problems here and there, caused mostly by me but a MR backup to previous installation solved that.
It went perfectly. No glitches that I can see and I don't believe any settings got clobbered.
I am not sure what I should look for...I don't think I had changed much. The changes to the menu were as I had them.
The only thing I noticed was a slightly more "compressed" text/smaller in the Start menu or whatever it is called now, and smaller text in the power menu.
Yep updated last night all OK no problems so far....

Finally opening file explorer stays in same place every time.
And in default Apps the setting for Calendar has been removed.
Clean installed this morning, only took around 10 minutes. Now for the drivers and software!
With 10 the installer works much differently in locating drivers for you! I found sound and video already installed as well as drivers for other expansion cards like the nic card not a problem and the old tv tuner card! 10 found the 7 driver for that being the last available. A substitute model card newer PCIe type was where the software part came in.
A fast look by putting the Media Center tool to work already having the existing VMs upgraded to the 10586 Insider Preview build resulted in simply seeing "Windows 10 Pro 64bit" and nothing else when comparing the new VM to the already upgraded to 10586 installs. It simply was to see the general release today with the slight change in not seeing the skip option on the Product key screen but the message about still being able to install Windows. If your key is not seen as already in use 10 will accept it on the spot and a clean install will activate automatically as the 10586 did.
I have been waiting for this but, as of 9.46pm AUS time Friday the 13th, there is NOTHING on the Windows 10 update site for OZ.
I guess we will get it about a week from now? Typical
