When Windows 10 first came out in July I first tried the upgrade from Windows 7 64-bit to Windows 10 64-bit. At first, all seemed OK but after a few hours I noticed a few glitches & thought it best to redo the install but a clean install this time. It was extra work but this time no glitches.
This time the upgrade went perfectly. The cleanup said 21.3 Gb but was actually about 17 Gb.
OK i had so many issues upgrading to this. They will make another release soon so as of now 10.0.10240 is the latest & If you have that version installed best to uninstall it as another update soon will follow. I got that update to work on my Acer Laptop but crashed several times & I rolled back. & my HP, DELL & Custom built using 10 Pro 64 but all failed on that update with PAGE_FAULT blue screen at bootup. I also used the media creator this was the error custom built one had originally Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit was originally installed off a DVD & made .iso upgraded to 10 in Aug.

Oh! TV news! I've checked the Windows Blog and didn't find anything about withdrawal of the upgrade. Nor did I find anything on Gabe Aul's Twitter account. Which don't mean anything except that it's not posted there.
Generally when the Upgrade fails to install, it will no longer be offered through Windows Update. You can get it using the Media Creation Tool (with instructions) here: Windows 10
The TV news probably got things out of context from a clueless newbie or their own people that had a problem with Windows update they don't understand .
Poster should at least tell us what channel and station they saw something if they can otherwise it never happened right ? ☻☻
FWIW I just 7x64 licence upgraded the workstation here yesterday evening with the MCT to 10586.3 smooth as butter .
Probably, but if I were to catch something like that I'd probably not remember which channel it was on either. And by the time I got from the TV to the computer, half of it would be gone. :)
Anyhow, do you have the URL to the ISO of Build 10585? It's about time for that to be re-posted to for those who need it.
