If you already had 10 activated on that computer, you don't need to enter anything.

If 8 is activated and you upgrade you don't need to enter anything either.

Only for clean install on a computer that hasn't had 10 activated before.

If you upgraded (not fresh install) you will not get the updates due to and until the 31 day rollback option expires.

How to Force Windows 10 Threshold 2 to Show Up in Windows Update

If already activated only I would not recommend that method, but rather fresh install.

100MB is EFI, next 900MB I agree with you is likely OEM but is there also some 20GB recovery? That 450MB is from upgrade to 10 but why wasn't automatically deleted that 900MB partition when are here new 450?
It depends on how you do the upgrade. If you just run setup.exe from the currently installed Windows, some partitions may be locked with restricted access. Windows can't delete them or move them. If you boot from the install media to the pre installation environment, they aren't and Windows can delete them. You'll get more control and less restrictions if you boot from the install media. Letting Windows do the upgrade VIA Windows update gives you even less control over what happens. It all happens in the background. That's when you can sometimes end up with partitions out of position and left overs that are just taking up space. Especially if you say went from 7 > 8 > 8.1 > 10 > 10 TH2 etc.

You could try going here in regedit HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

    Set "EditionID" to "Core"
Set "ProductName" to "Windows 10 Home"

    Then do in place upgrade.

If I may add. If you have recovery media, mirrored/cloned your original OEM setup, or don't care to lose it, you may want to delete that OEM partition as well. Windows install may not be able to, so you may have to use other software to do so.

Installed 10586 several days ago...small issue:

Can anyone help...on boot sometimes windows goes straight to desktop from welcome screen, sometimes welcome hangs for 10-15 secs before desktop displays with no rhyme or reason. This is from a shutdown then power on.

    Any ideas?
