I'm not so sure that there is too much mystery associated with .esd files any more - The latest beta versions of 7-Zip (15.09, 15.10. and 15.11) all open and expand install.esd files as if they were install.wim files - the encryption and compression is merely an implementation of LZMS file compression, and thus the binary file header of the .ESD contains all the necessary code to decrypt and decompress it using the correct algorithm.

Anyone knows how to re-import the favorites in Edge the correct way? After updated to 10586 they became incomplete, particular in many folders with 0 or short items.

My updates were delivered as part of the usual list. I did do one using the Media Creation Tool just to see the process. Since my prior version of Win10 Pro Build 10240 was more than 30 days old I didn't have the Windows.old Folder but installing by this method did create a new Windows.old Folder of 13.4GB size, seems to have been an Upgrade rather than an update. The Home version has a Windows.old Folder of 16.5GB. The space taken up could be an issue on smaller-capacity drives. I now am on Win10 1511 Build 10586.3, both Pro and Home.

You can mount the ISO and run the setup to upgrade/update to the new build if you like. Or you can create the USB to do a clean instillation.

Just done an upgrade through Windows updates. No clean install and kept all my data and programs intact.

@ Robinb9: Upgrades have replaced service packs...read this article:
Microsoft signals a slower Windows 10 upgrade tempo | Computerworld

There will probably be at least 2 of these per year...they bring in new features as well as other changes and refinements...Eventually, they hope to settle in to a 3x a year pattern (about every 4 months, roughly).

Other then that, it's cumulative updates (which are mostly bug fixes) and daily security updates of windows defender...That is more or less the new update policy...
