Howtogeek has a nice article describing in detail some of the upcoming changes. The only "disappointment" IMO is that the Start Menu will now have advertising for targeted apps.

Look for "What's New in Windows 10 First Big Update".
Can be turned off and/or unpinned.

I've done just that and it was/is easy.

Does that mean I will be able to keep my gray theme?

Not only is the watermark no longer there but when you run WINVER there is no longer an expiration date. I think that says it all.

Right that's what I'm thinking also

I just completed the install. I am an insider on the fast ring. first thing I noticed is that the water mark in the lower right corner no longer is there. How can I check to see what is on the system and what build number is really there?

"winver" typed into task bar search should show this image below it's version 1511 that's likely a date code for EDIT : November 2015 .
I would expect to see this roll out to the public via a cumulative update ~ next week if what I read is true .
FWIW Microsoft ( MSFT ) is already into their 2016 Fiscal year ( FY )that's probably why there is a 2016 copy write

"Threshold 2 will arrive as a new build for everyone, meaning this will be the first time since Windows 10 launched that an update will increase the build number of the operating system and take a little longer than usual to install. The idea however is that the consumer doesn’t notice much of a difference when upgrading, it’s simply supposed to be another update. -Winbeta.org-"

1511 is not 15 November, but 2015 November. There might be a 14 November update next year - which makes no sense if the version becomes 1411.
