Done! For the first time, less than an hour from start to finish.
If and when you buy an SSD, prepare for a ~20 minute time frame from start to finish...!

    Agree with that.
I came off the Insider builds a few weeks ago after I bought my first SSD and did a clean install of build 10240. As you say total install time was around 20 minutes.
I was thinking of going back to the Insider builds but think for now I'll just wait to see whatThreshold 2 brings :)

Got one, but haven't had the guts to install it, since this is an OEM system. I'll get there; just gotta think on it for awhile.

So one thing I noticed immediately; the watermark is gone from the desktop. That's cool.

And the Timebomb too! 10586 calls itself Windows 10 Pro -
No mention of "Insider Preview" anywhere!

What does being an OEM system have to do with it? Just wondering? Other than the warranty that is? If it came with Windows 8 or 8.1 OEM install the key is embedded in the BIOS. Swapping the hard drive won't change that. Did it already on my ASUS laptop.

What are the ramifications of the lack of expiry date?

None really. It just might not expire like other Insider builds do. Normally, after a certain date you need to upgrade to a new build or activation times out. This one may not do that, that's all.
