Yes I find FF x64 gives a snappier performance over the x86 builds.

That's why I previously stuck to FF beta builds as x64 has been available in those for quite a while now.
I agree. I am using the 64-bit version and all my addons are compatable. Also it is faster.

I never understand why you always have play a game of wheres Waldo to find the 64-bit version. It is the same with Microsoft Office practically hiding it but I run it anyway with no issues. What is the point of running a 64-bit OS when all they want you to do is run the slower 32-bit version. So anytime a program I am using has a 64-bit version I remove the 32-bit version and I have no issues.

To use 32-bit plugins such as Unity Web Player. Also, certain add-ons that communicate directly with programs on your computer (like antivirus add-ons) do not work correctly.

Don't use any of them so I don't care. Office 64-bit version I also don't run no add-ons and it runs great. Also my AV NOD32 is already 64-bit.

Man it never crossed my mind that there was a 64 bit version of office, thanks for the heads up lol. Just switched over and it even kept my settings through the uninstall and reinstall process

Oh, I meant that within the program, it looks almost identical to 32-bit Firefox, except for the user-string, about: page and uninstaller name.
The settings, how bookmarks are handled, etc. doesn't see hardly any change when going from the 32bit to 64bit and the 64bit FF 42 is a dead ringer for the Waterfox 38, 38, and 40 releases. In fact you can't open one while the other has a windows with both sharing the same base folder as well as bookmarks!

Firefox 64-bit is now available to download-firefox-waterfox-clash-each-other.jpg

So I ended up with the Cyberfox 42 also 64bit as the secondary browser while still keeping IE 11 and some others running but sit unused mostly.

I see Trusteer's Rapport is only available for the 32bit version of Firefox, which makes going to 64bit a non-runner. Which is a pity...

    Anthony.
The Neowin.net report there only links to one download page and going to Mozilla directly won't find the 32bit. File sharing sites for freebies and trial wares like download.cnet, softpedia, and some other clean sites like File hippo will have the option for one or both flavors. You just have to Bing around a little to find things! "gee how come this site has one thing and I have to go some other place for the other?"

Sorry, I'm kind of reluctant to download a browser from anywhere else than the official website. Where on Mozilla's website can I download FF 64 bit? I can only find the developer version in 64 bit.
    Available here https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/.../latest/win64/

That's for the 64bit only there. Simply running a quick Bing will reveal places for both flavors however. At Mozilla I kept ending up the download page for the 64bit 42 however since there was only one download button without options. Like the Waterfox Project site Mozilla keeps a separate Firefox site you can always go to for both Windows and Linux downloads. of the latest. Firefox 64-bit

For the 32bit flavor of 42 you see the word "stub" added into the download's file name. Download Firefox — Free Web Browser — Mozilla

Hello Nighthawk. You wrote this after quoting my post regarding the fact that Trusteer only offer Rapport for 32bit flavours of Firefox and not the 64bit version. I am puzzled, as I cannot understand the relevance of your comments to my post.

No problem! In fact while going to check on one download to see the 64bit 42 go on I found that has the word stub in the file name indicating I grabbed the 32bit without realizing it! Mozilla didn't bother to put anything but "stub" in the file name to differ the two flavors at all and can be misleading at times.

Generally it's much easier finding File Hippo, Download.cnet, majorgeeks, softpedia, or any other file sharing site you know is clean and then find what you are looking for much faster! Even better is going to the SorceForge sire where you can look up not only the browser but all options for downloads! The Cyberfox 42 also sees both flavors with the 64bit found at Cyberfox - Browse Files at SourceForge.net
