Agreed. We just went with Office 365 and the performance of OneDrive for business is awful. I thought it was because our tenancy is out of Australia, and I am in the US, but perhaps there is more to it than that.

Yeah, its not for everyone, but some are overly paranoid, or don't realize they use the cloud.

As you stated, there is email. Ever watch Netflix? This forum is a wealth of knowledge in the cloud. I use Microsoft, Apple, Linux and Android, having access to my stuff from multiple devices is great. My sister's house burned down, her external hard drive backups went with it. Her books on kindle and stuff in the cloud was still there.

My chrome bookmarks sync to the cloud, every box I use (at home, and at work), share my bookmarks and bookmark bar. So, my experience is exactly the same.

My game saves on xbox one are all in the cloud, so if my hard drive crashes in my console, I don't lose my game save progress.

I buy all of my music from Amazon MP3. It is all stored locally at home, but it's also in the cloud. I can play my music from my PC, Mac, phone, and tablet from anyplace with internet.

So, those are just a few of the things I use the cloud for. Works great for me, would feel list without it. And I work in IT, servers are virtualized in the cloud. If you aren't doing it in the cloud, you aren't going to have a job in the upcoming years. Don't ignore, embrace and learn it.

I am very pleased that you enjoy cloud, and you have many uses for it!! Yes I know about my email accounts, and I also have Netflix too. That's fine as it does not brother me in the least, and their is no extra charge, or any limit for using those apps.
So that's fine with me. As far as your last statement about having a job....chuckle..... after working at same place for 40 years, I don't want another job thanks. AND I can't ignore cloud, cause its everywhere anyhow. I only embrace it, when I have too. as far as learning cloud, I am doing that now, by learning how to turn it OFF when I have a choice. :)

Cloud is here to stay as it provides a very convenient way for people to access files and data with any device connected to the internet. People just need to understand the service isn't going to be totally free, especially for huge amounts of storage space.

That said, some people abused the system and now we have Microsoft's response. One can argue MS never stipulated how much space was "free", but just like in a buffet, you have people who make pigs of themselves and force an action. This is what Microsoft did.

And yeah, there was a sort of bait em and hook em scheme going by MS as well as some will find themselves now having to pay for the extra storage finding another solution. I say both sides are at fault here as nothing is truly ever free.

My two cents.

Cool, and I agree cloud is here to stay. Don't know what MS prices are, but Amazon offers unlimited storage for 59.95 a year. So I don't know if that's a good deal or not, as I don't NEED it myself. :)

Yeah, my comments about jobs and needing to embrace the cloud was really for IT type people. Some of us, are still sticking our head in the sand and pretending that the cloud isn't going to continue to take off and are sitting back resting on the skill sets that we already have. But today, embracing the cloud, and scripting build processes, and using services like Amazon Web Services is the way this is all going.
