I tear the OS apart all the time to see what makes it tick or what's new. I love clicking and right clicking.
But before you start, you'll need the "Take Ownership" from Shawns' tutorial or you won't get very far. A lot of that stuff will need permissions you don't have as user or admin otherwise, like System or TrustedInstaller.
The key thing is Edge is deeply built into the OS and trying to remove it will.. well mess things up. But, heck... if anyone wants to give it a go.. have at it,

Lots of annoying Edge bugs still not fixed, and mostly wont because no one reporting them/noticing them. For example it can happen that right clicking into the link bar results in some loop/crash of Edge. Also annoying right clicking into the link bar has some kind of lag of about 2-3 seconds, it's not instant as it should be. Closing some tabs with video playing or other media stuff can freeze Edge. Copying text/link via right click menu doesnt always work and also can lead to a loop/freeze of Edge.

There were no updates to Edge with those KB's. That will not happen until the November update.

I'm not sure we can remove edge Gary.....think its tried in to Windows and may not allow user to remove. Not sure....kinda like Xbox, you can remove Xbox using powershell, but it really only removes it from apps in start menu, Xbox is still listed in tons of places on my hard drive, and in registry. That just ain't right either!!!
    Sorry but you can.

Always, there is a method posted on another site that explains how to do it. You can remove anything from windows if you try hard enough and get the right information. I knew a guy that slimmed down XP so it would fit on a very Small thumb drive. I do have a link after my sig that should tell you that I would make an image.

My only concern is that MS may stop updates.. That I will have to think on.
