Yes you are right. I hope that they update the RTM ISO with the November 2nd update on it.

It's just the Roll Back feature that is limited to 30 days. Well 31 now I guess. It won't work after that period. It looks to me that they are just being due diligent in telling you, you only have 30 days to use it. They are just making sure you know you only have 30 days to use it. Would you rather they said nothing and let you find out on your own that it won't work because you waited too long? After 30 days you have to use other means to go back to your old OS. I did a clean install of 8.1 on my other desktop PC well after the 30 day period, and had no issues reusing the key that was in use when I upgraded that PC to Windows 10.
Yeah I got that and you posted that in my other query the other day. That said, my worry is how "aggressive" will MS get move people into Windows 10? Especially since they're "stressing" the now 31 days.

Yes MS did mention this when Win 10 first went to public, but they weren't stressing it like now. That's got me a bit worried with the "you only have 31 days to try it out" language.

Anyway I suppose we'll start getting this and the PC upgrade answers in the coming months as I'll be doing my normal 3-year major hardware upgrade in 2016.

And yeah, to me no means no - If I say no I don't want to upgrade to 10, don't plaster my PC with update files or "notices" to upgrade. No means no... leave me the heck (clean version) alone!

Right now I have to build a Win 7 machine to give to a family member that I need to stay Win 7. I don't need them nagged to death with Win 10 upgrade "notices".

Yeah I think were all aware of MS' aggressiveness on this already. We'd just wish they'd listen to us - no means no.

I would be very surprised if they blocked your key after 30 days. It's just going to piss people off and generate tons of negative press. Plus tons of tech support complaints etc. If they are even remotely concerned about their public image, they won't do it. IMHO. If they do that I'll resign my MVP.

Though I agree with you, I don't think MS is too concerned with their image in the way they are aggressively pushing Windows 10, in some instances forcing it on you (don't forget this lovely thread at the top of our forum here).

Anyway as I said, I'm running Windows 10 Pro and loving it; however I don't want all my machines to be Win 10 and should have the option of saying no and being left alone. Period.

I don't like it. I don't like it one bit. Or byte or bytes. I am also running 10, on all my PC's, but it was my choice, not Microsoft's. If I had a cap on my downloads I'd be pissed too.

Well I don't have a cap, but I know some do and that can be an issue as well. For me I just want to keep different OS's without being nagged to death.

It kind of defeats the point of MSDN and having different OS to test with? What's the point of running different OS for testing if they are all going to nag me to upgrade to Windows 10? And all download install files in the background?
