Have you tried grouping logically or alphabetically in folders, then just click the folder and it drops down(mouse overing would be much better, but....)
When dropping down the Favorites option on the IE 11 menu bar you will find every folder for MS links as well as bookmarks toolbar and unassorted bookmarks as well in their own folders that spring out into other drop down lists of bookmarks once imported into IE. I wasn't looking for importing tons and tons of bookmarks as you saw there with every folder imported from but mainly those you find on the bookmarks bar itself while anything that goes into the drop down area can;t be moved up as the first on the left or next or next or next to have any sort of custom order of thing! Alphabetical won't work simply since the preferred bookmarks anyone has is hardly ever alphabetical in order! You have your favorites while someone else has their's!

I imported my bookmarks and favorites bar links from Chrome to IE 11 into Edge then opened Chrome in a tiled window and dragged the bookmarks bar links to the favorites bar in Edge . After you get so many in they will droop off the screen but you can still get to them in a drop down menu . I did this all on one 27" QHD screen and didn't use the 40" extended screen it worked fine .
Most of the favorites bar icons in Edge didn't transfer correctly and have a star Icon so I just gave them short names or initials .

Edge is still a train wreck for now IMO it got rushed out ,OTOH the early Windows 10 test builds were also along with 8.1 .
I like the Edge GUI though if they get it working right and stable I might use it a lot more but not likely as a default browser unless they perform miracle (s) with it .

While YMMV Chrome is *my favorite* with Firefox right behind it ,followed by IE 11 .

I tried Safari *in Windows* and a few of the W7 Opera browsers a while back in W7 x64 both struck out here . I tried some of the more obscure browsers like Maxthon,Slimbrowser , etc,etc in W 7 x64 a while back ...I was unimpressed .
Edge is still a bit far off from being fully developed which MS hopes to be readied by next summer when the free upgrade to test 10 as it should be called not seeing the finished final RTM to be followed later by the SP1 type builds you would have previously seeen it still needs the work as well as MS wanting feedback for bugs as well as suggestions to find out what is the more popular choices! They like selling points when going to add something else in!

The drop down area is where you see the bookmarks glued in place unable to move them up or down when wanting one ahead of the other without deletion of the first! In order to get the bookmarks bar in order I had to nuke about half of them until the most often used were up on the bar itself and then and only then could be arranged according to use! The "Constant Need" to scroll down through a much longer list of bookmarks then the 17 or so below the bar at this time sees the tabs at both top and bottom as they continue to roll on which can take several minutes! The unassorted bookmarks is where you make a quick save of a page that you want to keep as a reference but not frequent which is where the "Bookmark This Page" option comes in.

Exactly, this is not a contest about which browser is better it's a personal choice. I like Edge at this point and I do use it for this site and other things. But I also still use FF. Variety, the spice of life.

Oh and Edge is far from a train wreck.
I think you will find many will disagree with that! For the non particular who will use any browser they see Edge as the new toy while those who are a bit more particular about things are finding it as what it is a new browser still needing a lot of time to see fully developed! At this time it still isn't what you could call a suitable replacement for IE but more like IE 2 or 3 in contrast as far as how far along it is at the present time even on the Threshold 2 build now it still lacks.

As for Opera I still kept the 9..64 version for some VM project that may come up while it's out for every day use! The same thing went for the 32bit FF as well as the Flock browser being another obscure off beat name. The Netscape Navigator could have been a treat if that had been worked on further but at one time AOL only! That was their pet they finally took the lease off of that got dropped off the charts since too many off shoots of Google Chrome and FF came about! Safari for Windows is mostly a Fruit company enticement for Windows users to .... ? Your guess there!

Waterfox proved to be a winner once you worked with it for a period of time having come up from version 9.0 to the just released 40.10 that replaced the 40.02 in a week's time suggesting a fast and thorough support system by the developer who now is starting to be mocked with FF 42 by Mozilla simply incorporating those ideas into their own brand Firefox name. When going to reinstall WF FF 42 actually hampered that when going back one version showing those two are interconnected to each being essentially the exact same thing!

Cyberfox being a close cousin from "Down Under" still seems to be well built but fortunately sees the check box option for the CTR option no one else would want to use. But that is simply a spare browser being looked over for the time being. The appearance is noticeably different as so is Edge.

Edge has jet black however while Cyberfox sees the slight change as a dressing while adding more features and settings into that seen with either Waterfox, FF, or some other FF variant. I'm still trying to locate the exact file location other then finding the MicrosoftEdge.lnk file under user account>AppData>Roaming>Microsoft when seeing it pinned to the Start menu. The file location simply opens the This PC thumbnail in File Explorer while the properties shows nothing in the target line. That got unpnned from the main taskbar by accident one day.

Ah,, I was just saying that it's a personal choice about the browser we chose to use.

Some just like to keep things simple without all the bells and whistles. Edge is fully developed enough for a lot of us. We're reading WWW pages here, not building rockets. Before I unsubscribe from this thread, one last thing:

Choices choices, Starbucks ,Peet's or Folgers ? A stable browser I can actually get something done with or Edge just because it's new ?

Mmmm , It's Monday time for a strong cup of Peet's house blend ( maybe two ) and a real browser like Chrome or Firefox ! ☻☺

Too many ads with Edge...I'll stick to Firefox and AdBlocker. I would use it on my RT as the RT IE version is the worst browser I've ever used.

Hi BunnyJ. I think there is a typo in your side signature thing - I think your version should be 1511.
