I rarely pay much attention to anything Apple does since most of their stuff doesn't mesh with my style very well. But I can agree with BReeves about Microsoft knowing better than we do what we need/want. They have exhibited that attitude very clearly with the last several versions of Windows up to 10. There is a bit of backtracking with that, and we didn't lose as much control this time around.
I thought W 10 had more control, no choice in updates, and from what I have read invasion of privacy worse than we have ever had..........which we can't turn off.
Here is a tip for anyone interested. When I set up my W 8 and my W8.1 and I came to the name and email page, I just put my initials in the name box and ignored the other, it worked. That do not have my email address and I don't have an account with MS.

You got it Emma , lots of other stuff as well like not being able to simply remove programs you don't want . It's just way too bloated for me and has too many built in programs that i know i will never use , thats why i went back to 7 .
Unless 10 really changes and gives users more control over preferences and programs i won't be using it in the future , i did give it a 6 week tryout though.
