Life is full of change. So will with Control Panel.

Thanks OldMike. I honestly don't see why people are so upset about something they have never seen and don't know anything about. Let's just wait and see the finished product. When the change happens and we get an opportunity to use it and get to know it, I may complain too. But, if I do, I will have some factual reasons for my complaints. As it stands right now, there is nothing to complain about other than 'something is going to be different and I don't like that'.
The whole point is to make sure the new product will have the same features as the old. If we just wait without telling our opinion, then it may be too late! The purpose is that Microsoft takes into account what we say (I hope) and then they design the final version. As I said before, it doesn't matter if I like it or not, but I do want the new Settings app to be as functional as the old Control Panel before they make the switch and remove the latter.
Would it not stand to reason that MS won't rid the CP until the Settings app is complete? As it stands today, anything that has not been ported over is at least linked to the CP and opens it where one can configure that setting. It is complete in that respect, yes?
In the era of developing and releasing 7 in which touch and snapping were introduced, they started planning 8 with the introduction of the new WinRT application architecture. With the development and introduction of 8 it was a basic start. To port OS features over to WinRT will take some time. A very complex undertaking to say the least. MS has very good reasons to do so, both in architecture and marketing purposes. All too numerous to mention in one post. If one reads the forums, one will get a general idea of what's going on. That is not meant to focus on you alone, but to all.
bobjoe, I didn't answer my own question. perhaps you need to read everything Microsoft has said about this OS. They said this would be the last version of Windows. That does not mean what you see is what you get. It means instead of making a new version, this one will evolve. Apparently they have determined that doing away with Control Panel is part of that evolution. That's why it is in the OS right now. It's part of the process.
@spapakons, you complaining here does not tell Microsoft anything. No one here works for Microsoft or has any affiliation with it as far as I am aware.. Make your objections to the insider's program or from the feedback app. That's what it is for.
