I know (not meant conceitedly). I saw some other responses to the response Bunny J made to my citing that Windows 10 love wasn't universal outside this forum. Having them call me a "troll" or even "silly" is just plain offensive. I have made many positive posts here, on a WIDE range of opinions. They should read all of my posts before such comments are made. Sure it's an opinion, but I never made my dislike of Windows 10 personal.
Ok.. sorry then. But if you like you can put me on ignore just like I'm putting you right now.

I wasn't ignoring you Jeff. I think your opinions are valuable. Hmmm, that's actually very disappointing. I've been nothing but cordial to you despite my disagreement. That's really too bad.

Silly alright. Hijacking a thread to use for trolling. It's not even on topic anymore.

Earlier on I stated there was no need to quote me any longer. You give me no other choice. Please do likewise with me.

Really guys? How mature. If someone doesn't like your opinion, you just flush them out?

Don't bother trying to voice your opinions on this forum. Either everyone here is a M$ employee or they're getting paid some real good $$$ for these posts...

Besides, this thread has been nothing but ON TOPIC for the last 15 pages. The whole point of this thread was to discuss the discontinuation of the CP, and how it would affect users who are not using touch screens, phones that apparently "run full Windows", or convertible laptops.

This is a forum. Debate and discussion is to be expected. I don't know why some of you are getting so worked up about this.

What do touch screens have to do with it? Control Panel and Settings can be accessed very easily with a mouse keyboard? Or a touch screen if you have one.

The INTERFACE was designed with phones/tablets in mind. Don't tell me that you think it was designed for desktops.

Microsoft is trying to blend two platforms that have never (and should never have) been together before. In order to make something pleasureable to tablet/mobile AND desktops users, you must ADAPT everything to the tablet interface. A desktop interface doesn't work on a tablet, so MS decided to do it vice versa, and this is what users are angry about. A tablet/mobile interface is almost ALWAYS dumbed-down/simplified/idiot-proof. Why do you think iOS is so popular?

I totally disagree! The modern Settings app is too limited. Most advanced settings are only accessible from the classic Control Panel! If they remove it, we will probably need third-party utilities to access them! I don't trust them that they will add similar functionality to the modern app. Not until I see it with my own eyes! I insist that the end user should have the choice! Nobody forces anyone using the classic Control Panel. Anyone can set the computer with modern app or classic. Too bad you cannot do everything from the modern app, so you just have to resort to the old classic Control Panel. Besides, I prefer the nice-looking colorful icons in classic Control Panel than the colorless too-simple icons in the modern app!

Heres an idea, windows 10 is new, why not have a new settings app. The control panel was included with older versions of windows, should we actually be wanting it to still be there just because its familiar and we know where certain settings are? If Microsoft get rid of the control panel no doubt we will very soon learn where certain settings are. Perhaps an even further step is to make a settings app aimed at basic users with just the bare minimum , and one for advanced users with all the settings in it. Another idea is to have a customisable settings app where you can arrange your own settings into groups, the way you like them. My 2c.
