First Release for Business: Gives pilot users and application compatibility testers the opportunity to test the next Current Branch for Business.
Current Branch for Business: Distributes new features of Office only a few times a year.
Current Branch: Distributes the newest features of Office to users and subscribers as soon as they're available.
And now to muddy the waters a tad bit more, we have Microsoft Office Insiders for Home and School use, while First Release for Business, goes a step further and updates us more frequently than four months.
Another quirk for First Release is that Corporate IT has the power to decide who in the organization gets First Release and who doesn't.
Thanks everyone for the notification. I updated through the Word document. I was surprised that running Settings-> Update did not say there was an update to MS Office. However going through Word-->File -> Account, it found the update.
My company (Ford Motor Company) offers employees Microsoft Office 2016 for $10, so I upgraded several weeks ago and it's running very well. No issues at all...
