10547 is going to be obsolete in a few days anyway so maybe a thred about Rufus and Windows 10 Insider Build Issues in general would be prudent if the problem persists or comes up in another build later or no ?

Definitively a problem with ejecting USB storage devices in 10547. Just tried 2 of them, one freshly formatted in Fat32 and another with live Linux on it. Ejecting them from right click menu just renders them unusable but still in the This PC, even after their physical removal. Those same two eject just fine and in normal way in 10240 on the same computer.
Right 10547 wont eject a USB drive here either I 've tried several.. it's been that way since day one on this build . I just wait a bit and pull it out or just leave one in till I need to pull it .My right click task bar hiden Icon menu sees them and doesent harm them however instead it ignores them altogether ☻☻
On my PCs, Windows has always had issues with USB drives.
I've never had any issues with Linux Mint (or Ubuntu) on the same hardware.
Your words Wynona, I just replied to your post so cool your jets.OK, OK, I get it!
Pardon me for interrupting your regularly scheduled enjoyment by hijacking this thread to report an issue with Windows 10 Build 10547! Which is a real issue! And one of its side effects is to prevent Rufus from being implemented properly.
Signing out and heading off to eat worms and die, as it seems that anyone who uses Rufus is supposed to do.
No I dont capture video beyond some downloads now and then and a Sony HD Handicam or a smart phone I use the sim card instead of the USB on the camera and dont take anything off the phones to the PC's anyway which I could sync over wi fi if I had to . I othewise tranfer files here on the lan between PC's anyway .
The workastation with lots of outboard USB and Midi devices here is on Win 7 x64 for a good while yet win 10 RTM isn't ready for that stuff yet here anyway IMO but the Elitebook and another destop are on RTM this is a dual boot W 10 RTM /10547 box .
Sometimes Windows gets flaky with USB and Linux Ubuntu seems to run HDWE in general fine in my experience ( if you can find or compile compataible drivers ) that is . OTOH Linux Ubuntu has very good drive tools they just work.
That being said I'm not on the Linux box hdd much these days and prefer Windows 10 warts and all for the daily driver and the other 2 boxes here outside of the win 7 workstation .
FWIW I'm not a Linux or Windows hater each has it's place and things they do well and not so well , no OS is perfect ☻
I just mentioned them as non-storage USB devices that behave strangely after trying to eject storage ones. Mouse and keyboard are not ejectable devices so they don't show up in eject menu.
I use one for input from satellite TV STB and other one for security camera, in all other scenarios they are ejectable but not after eject attempt of storage USBs.
