It doesn't looks like there is a logic in there. On both 10532 & 10547 I always had install.esd in C:\$WINDOWS.~BT but until next build taking over.
Right. the Install.esd file for Build 10532 should have disappeared in Build 10547.
I have seen a number of folks asking for an outside source to get the .esd file because they'd done a "cleanup" after the update and install.esd was no longer there.
For myself, I haven't ever lost the Install.esd file . . . so now that I've bragged about it, there won't be one in the next Build that's delivered to me.

I could ( maybe ) copy this test build from the old Windows folder ( B4 I clean it ) to burn a DVD depending on the UAC permissions after the next one installs that but ofc it would be the prior test build then but that's better than nothing and can be updated to a current test biuld.
What U think besides being smart and backing up an 10547 or any current test build system image ? ☻
FWIW I just deleted the old test build esd from 03/15 from the recovery folder but left the folder and driver and OEM information there which contain boot critcall dlls and HIV files in there as Understand it ( on a dual boot test buld config ) the boot bootloader is stored on the RTM or ( other ) partition or no ?

Thank you everyone for all your replies and help but I still can't find the Install.esd file I have no idea where has it gone to and here is a screenshot from Sources folder
I used to make an ISO from Install.esd before but this time I don't know what happened or where has it gone to, the reason that I want to get a clean install because I'm getting some force closed and crashes from some apps and some lagging in windows explorer that requires a whole machine restart which is kinda annoying when I have something going on that I don't want to interrupt.
I guess I will have to take my chances with an ISO off the internet and try a clean install

Why not put a "Request For Help" post, describe your build needed. Maybe someone here can help through PM. At least more reliable than there in the wild.

FWIW the way I get it now the Windows 10 Insider test builds no longer leave an intact ESD image on your C Drive after the update installs only the older build in the Windows ( OLD ) file folders .
Presumably you would have to copy the new download * before * installing the update ( new test build )
**On the test builds ....You may have to interrupt the update /install process to copy the Win .bt file or whatever before the install begins according to one of the tutorials linked above . ☻
