And, they closed the Insider Program temporarily just before RTM, and then re-opened it. So, "new" people can join now and register new machines for Insider Builds. The only difference now, is that it MUST be an upgrade from a qualifying OS (can't be a clean install), or a purchase of the W10 OS.
One item of note:
I am currently receiving Insider Builds but, seeing as how my firmware is now 'branded', I don't have an expiry date when I open 'winver'.
So I'll keep receiving Insider Builds until the program runs out at which time I'll have to perform a clean install of whatever version is RTM at the time and enter either* key.
*(on this machine only)
I'm assuming that he was "offered" to join the Insider Program after the upgrade and he decided to do so. Again, looking at his screenies, I think he's done everything correctly, but so far, no Insider builds have come his way from Microsoft.
I've asked every question I could think of (some of them borderline insulting) and still I can't figure it out.
The only other things I can think of are DISM and sfc /scannow, which I'm not familiar enough with to know what I'm looking at anyway.
Mine looks just like Kari's, with the same expiration date, (a different time though).
I know it sounds far fetched, but stranger things have happened.
@simrick, Hippsie, Edwin, Sgage, etc. Can any of you think of anything I haven't thought of?
