I have office 2013 installed and was looking for a German language pack.
it got me to an Office 2016 language pack. I downloaded it, when I tried to install it, it tells me that several programs will be uninstalled and can not be re-installed after the upgrade.
Q: will this replace the uninstalled programs?
and is this a free upgrade?
I am reluctant to go any further without clarification on what is going to happen.
    any advice?
    Thanks
    Sven

Well, looks like it'll be over pretty soon . . .

Since August 2014, I've participated in Office 365 2016 Technical Preview, but today I got notice that the Preview is ending and as reported earlier, Microsoft Office 2016 will be released on September 22:

    . . . What to expect:

    • Over the next few days, we will begin closing this program on both Connect and Yammer.
    • If you are an active Office 365 subscriber and you have Office 2016 Preview installed as part of this program, you are all set. As valued Preview members, you will continue to receive early Office updates as they arrive.
    • If you have the Trial version of the Preview installed, you will need to either purchase Office 2016 by your trial's end date by clicking on the Buy Now link, OR uninstall the Preview by going to your Control Panel's Programs and Features and selecting Uninstall, then install your licensed version of Office. . .

Guess that about says it all.
Thank you for testing it I love it so much better than any of the Office that have been out you did a good job

Suuuurrrrre, I did a fantastic job!

Yes, I can say all of the Previewers did a great job, because this is probably the best Office I've seen yet. I'm still not too fond of the Ribbon, but I've adjusted (even if it did take years). There's just no way we could get to all the options in Office without the Ribbon! And, they are many, many, many.

A beta testing group is kind of like having a few gazillion Edwins @Edwin who has tested Windows 10 more thoroughly than anyone I know. Someone finds a bug, explains how to make it show up and then we're all on it like a chicken on a junebug! Or, they can't figure out how to do something and ask the group for help. And a thousand other things.

We were on the Office 365 Technical Preview for over a year, and it paid off. But, I still have a couple of three things I want to see fixed.

I purchased a 1 year subscription to Office 3 weeks ago. So will I be automatically upgraded to the new version at some point, or did I literally just buy something that was a couple weeks away from becoming obsolete?

If its a subscription then you will get the upgrade

Office 365 (the subscription package) always gets the latest versions when they are released

If you go to office.microsoft.com you should be able the get the latest now without waiting for the auto update

    Okay here's a strange one:
I tried to set O365 2016 Excel as the default program for *.csv files, and it won't do it. Tried setting Excel as default for all possible extensions and it still won't take. Anyone else having this problem? It has 18 of 27 defaults and it's not taking any more!

Hi. Does O365 have a repair option in Programs and features?
