The solution could be easy. But till now I never found a good tutorial considering all aspects during a new installation. When I run a clean installation the

    - ESP-Partition size = 260 MB
    - MSR-Partition size = 16 MB
    - C-Partition size = 150 GB
    - Recovery-Partition size = 1024 MB

So I never have to change anything at all!
You post really accurate stuff, Pentagon.

I decided to follow this video FIX IT...Windows 10 KB5034441 Security Update Fails With 0x80070643 Errors - YouTube and ye, it works. This video explain the process much better then MS did. I'm not encouring anyone to do this, cos this update is not significant. I can only confirm that this works, but still, if You want to follow this, don't rush, and cofirm every step twice. If You want I can add screenshots, and all the steps I made in CMD, maybe it will be helpfull for someone.

I replied to this and being dyslexic needed to correct things. Every time I opened to edit it deleted the post. So now back home will do a reply on the PC!

The problem I found was two fold
1/ The MS upgrade installer created a new labelled Recover folder but placed this behind the existing emty folder but added the Recover data in the folder immediacy behind c:.
2/ I had to close the laptop and when rebooted the contents in the unlabelled folder with the recover data was wiped. I should have thought of that as the folder before with the recover data, I found when I went to copy Winre.wim, had also been erased. Which is why I did a 2nd upgrade/

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised at MS making such a mess of upgrading, creating a second folder but adding the data to an existing one and labelling the created one as Recover even though not immediately behind C:. I was a little surprised that they have clearly set windows up to wipe recover data if it’s in the wrong folder rather than correct the problem.
My laptop has been running for the best past of 10years without the Recover data so I expect it will be no worse off with the folder and data not there still.

Again thanks for your help it was appreciated, pitty a mixture of me and MS defeated it.

Disk Management shows the Recovery Partition to be 100% free, but utilities like Speccy show that it is actually occupied, that the 530MB partition has 83% usage. MiniTool Partition Wizard actually shows which files are present.

It was MiniTool Partition Wizardthat showed it empty on reboot as did 7zip that was to copy winre.win that was to enable me to sort it out as Pentagon said.

I fear twice a reboot cleared the Recovery data from new in place upgrades where the installer had incorrectly created the recovery folder behind an existing empty one and put the data in the original empty folder. The data was there and after a reboot was wiped.

There is one thing you could do
    1. Open explorer and check if Partition 4 has the drive letter (R:)
Only if yes, run cmd (admin) mountvol R: /d
    2. run reagentc /disable and wait for a minute or 2
    3. run sfc /scannow
    4. run reagentc /enable
    5. Press and hold <Shift> and <Start> Restart/Reboot and wait till it reboots into Recovery Environment
    6. Start normally and run the update again
    Hi again @Pentagone,

I do not see the letter of my Recovery partition using DISKPART :

    DISKPART> list part

    N° partition Type Taille Décalage
    ------------- ---------------- ------- --------
    Partition 1 Système 260 M 1024 K
    Partition 2 Réservé 16 M 261 M
    Partition 3 Principale 237 G 277 M
    Partition 4 Récupération 1039 M 237 G

    DISKPART>

But I remember I have set it with the letter R: as you explained.

In addition, what do you think about that : FIX IT...Windows 10 KB5034441 Security Update Fails With 0x80070643 Errors - YouTube

    Would that fix it ?

    Thanks for your help

Very good! That means that everything works as it is expected!
You see drive letters only if you type
    diskpart
    list vol

The Letter is there only temporarily.
You did that already, what is mentioned in the video!
Run commands 2) 3) and 4) from the above input

    Edit:
see 1) of the above post !!!
