Can I join the "0x8007000d" club? Also having this error after updating to build 19045.3391 and click Check for Updates button. Spent hours today restoring a backup of a older build, updating and rebooting the computer only to have this error arise again lol. I really wish I had read this thread before wasting my time thinking this bug only affected my PC.

I was so close to going down that route this morning, and luckily found this thread after trying everything else I could possibly think of. Glad to hear this is fairly widespread and already reported, because it worried me haha

    a BIG WAA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

guess I'm one of the lucky ones to not encounter the 0x8007000d error as I manually downloaded & installed KB5029331 thru uupdump

we'll wait & see what happens next Tuesday August 22 if the newer & official non-insider version of KB5029331 does or does not make such errors

So have I missed Microsoft offering any sort of resolution to this problem?
Or are they just ignoring the fact that this broke Windows Update for a lot of people?
This was in the Release Preview channel, so one would think it's pretty safe to try it.

    peace

I checked WU this morning on my main W10/64bit rig, which has all the previous/most recent updates installed, and it says I am already up to date, so apparently the official release won't happen until this coming Patch Tuesday, and/or MS is working on fixing whatever the problem is... **fingers crossed**

The Windows Backup app in that link was added to this Windows 10 RP build, but not mentioned in the release notes.

I have 3 pcs all updated to 19045.3391 and only one got the new Windows Backup app. Strange!

Most likely one of those slowly rolling out features.
