Well this issue is Windows is licensed to the user and the user doesn't own Windows.
Ownership of Windows is NOT the issue; the issue is right to access data the USER owns.

Also the problem is over exaggerated as some are saying MS is taking everything well if the take everything then they would go through terabytes of storage a day.
So what? Facebook handles 600 Terabytes of storage -- per day! Why would you suspect that if Facebook can handle this load, Microsoft could not?
Plus finding my data would be worse then finding a needle in a haystack. My company has about 65 surfaces and MS had did an inquiry about how many Surfaces we have and how we use them. Wouldn't they already know that if they were tracking us?
Every "device" that gets activated has a unique, generated, Device ID -- that's how activation works. MS already has that information on their activation servers and, when your device connects to the Internet and MS retrieves data from it, they don't have to search through a haystack to find a needle, they already have it. This is not a situation of hundreds or thousands of MS employees (or contractors) sitting there reading emails, or looking at your website links, or reading your private files -- that is "old school" -- how things were done DECADES ago. Today, there are data mining "engines" (software) that can tear through all of this very quickly, analyzing what they find, and report the results. This is not "tracking" individuals; instead, this is examining the details of private lives.

I completely agree with you on this

Hey there, anti-privacy advocate. A system shouldn't have to send "feedback" against my will. Feedback is, by definition, to send one's concern and ideas willingly. I'm not against feedback but feedback generated from the content of my machine. No thanks. Real feedback is say from user on a forum posting ideas and discussing. Then, MS would read that. THAT would be real feedback. No to Telemetry.
I agree providing you are not using a Windows 10 Insider Build.

If you asked me, the miss that I have is that I couldn't do a clean install AFTER I had successfully activated my upgrade. The clean install wouldn't activate and when I contacted MS, all I got..." sorry but you will after to start over and reinstall Windows 8.1 again."

That was such a WRONG answer.

I went through the exact same thing , updated successfully and my PC was permanently activated . Did a clean install and refused to activate , had to go through the whole upgrade thing again with another clean install , what a major pita.

Win 10 after 30 days. Start checking your reliability monitor for real time operating system stability read out. Mine shows no critical events until the MS August 29th, 2015 update. At that time I went from a score of 10(very reliable) to a 2(very unreliable) and of course it is trending back up. The time to reach a high reliability number is much shorter than in previous versions of Windows OSs. Unless your system is experiencing severe operating characteristics, don't read to much into this diagnostic tool.

Win 10 pro 64 bit should be free of all the tracking and goofy assitant this and that but, be able to add that functionality in if the operator wants it. The pro version is at it states should a professional version for professional applications on a very light initial install. IMO. MS are you reading this?

My experience with win 10 is not a happy one even though I have used the pre-release.
I built a new ASUS BASED computer for win 10 release. Loaded the pre-release & used it.
A big problem occurred! when I booted, after about 2 minutes, the computer just went off-line.
Nothing on the screen, HD light just kept blinking!

I held the "Start Button" down until it shut down, rebooted & everything was OK.
I thought it was the fault of my computer build. Tore it down checked very part of the assembly & reassembled.
    Still occurred. Just ignored it!

When the final release came, I downloaded it to my Win 8.1 work desktop! Guess WHAT!
It did the same thing. Went into a loop! Shut it down re-booted everything was OK until. I could reboot at will, no problem.
If I waited a few hours, the same event occurred!

The net bad thing that happened is that I lost ALL MY FAVORITES.
Can not find a way in MAIL to import or export Favourites.
Can't find a way in Mail the make fonts default to Bold & size 14!

I am 86, bad eyesight, like many of my computer friends that are my age!

I brought this up in the preview edition but it was Ignored!

I haven't been on the forum for quite awhile as I was put down too meant times by idioms!
    They are everywhere!

    Windows 10 Hits/Misses

    Hits:
    1. The updated start menu.. It just meets my needs and is flexible for what I do.
    2. Edge, Yes,, it's still under development but I like it so far and the direction it's heading. In time it should be great, IMO,.
    3. The Quick Access.. For me it makes it easy to access the files/folders I use the most.
    4. Cortana. I use it from time to time and so far I like it.. is it perfect.. no.. but it's fun to use.
5 Upgrading Media Player to handle FLAC.

    Misses:
    1. Not fond of new Photo App.. I still like and use the older one from 8.1.

    That's it for now..
