Most people who are serious about their computing have backups. When Windows 10 came along I bought a new SSD just to test it. On my Dell laptop I can change a disk drive within 30 seconds and put back my Windows 7 disk.

I'm using the free Macrium Reflect backup software to do frequent backups. I do a total restore within 10-15 minutes. A totally new install of e.g. Windows 7 would take weeks to restore all my settings. That is not an option for me. I had my Windows 7 system running now for over five years now.

PS! I have three SSD drives each with Windows 7, Windows 10 and Linux. Switching OS is a no brainer with my excellent Dell XPS laptop.

Why would Microsoft block doing that? There is nothing to be gained by doing it? All your going to do is piss people off and generate negative press. People need a backup incase Windows 10 has issues on that hardware or they just don't like it.

I have seen a few people who have rolled back because they didn't like a color scheme or it was "too much work" to set up email in Mail. "Not liking Windows 10" is often not what it sounds like.
