This reminds me of what other's may remember as the infamous poisoned 2004 -19042.661 out of band *.cab that was prematurely released that if installed became for some a Dead End that required either a lot of leg work to move forward, or to re-image a few weeks back to 19042.630 and then apply the 19042.685 CU.
KB4592438 CU Windows 10 v2004 build 19041.685 and v20H2 19042.685
This situation is different of course and yet what I learned the hard way was if I didn't have the exact problem then to be patient and wait for the CU to do my updates.

Did Microsoft pull 22H2 update?
One computer of mine "saw" the 22H2 update but when I clicked to update, it mysteriously vanished.....
Did Microsoft stop rolling out 22H2?

Don't know the answer, but there is something going on, several people on here including me have not received the update after several attempts. I have 3 desktops and 2 laptops, the 22H2 update showed up and installed on 2 of the 3 desktops and both laptops. I cannot find out why the other desktop is not getting the update. I have searched online and have not found an answer. I am in hurry up and wait mode right now.
The computer that it not showing up on is on Version 21H2 and OS Build 19044.2130. SFC /scannow does not show any problems.

I had a similar experience. Running 21H2 and today WU offered me 22H2 update (screen just as in post #1).
After clicking on "download and install", the offer text and update button disappeared, as normal, and instead was replaced with a text "Downloading".
This lasted for about 10 seconds (no percentage shown), then it suddenly reverted to standard green check mark left to "You're up to date" and below this a button "Check for updates" reappeared.
Going into "View update history" was showing:
Feature update to Windows 10, version 22H2
Failed to install - Error 0x80246017
After closing WU and checking again for updates, WU shows "Up to date", no more 22H2 offer.
And that failure error message has been removed from update history.
PS: "sfc /scannow" is clean
Really, any clues about what is going on?
Thanks in advance.

Exactly the same thing happened to me, when I chose the download and install option, it seemed to download and a second later, the update disappeared. I did a manual search and it didn't show up again.

I did "sfc /scannow" before clicking on "download and install" but it was clean. I tried google search but the error code is so generic that there is really no helpful info.
EDIT: At least I know I'm not isolated case, thanks for response.

Same here, it was offered, i didnt want to update late in the evening, in case something went wrong.
In the morning it was gone. O well, guess they had a reason.

Downloaded quickly in seconds but installation very slow .... 90% after 45 mins. Time for a brew.
Uppdate: All sorted, but a bit slow.

For those who have the update that disappears when you click to install it, go see immediately in the history of updates, you should have an error message and error code for this update. I had to uninstall KB5020435 to be able to install the 22h2 update. I had an error code that ended in 6019 I believe. It should come back automatically.

Fortunately, there is imagery, it is recommended in this forum. I don't do it yet, I'm without a safety net.
