I'm already on 21H2 latest version and it fails at around the 80% mark during a reboot which causes the GSOD message. When it comes back up this is the error banner I see.

I have seen reports of Windows 10 Version updates failing at the Safe_OS phase so I suggest you search for that and for the error code to see if those threads provide a way forward for you.

Funny thing is that my laptop also generated the same error and when I clean installed 11 it went fine with no issues. I've already tried the things that are being suggested in those threads to no avail so a clean install seems to be the only way to get around the issue.

My dad's machine is doing the very same thing and all of them are AMD based so I'm pretty certain there's something they are running that can't be upgraded and in 11 MS is controlling the AMD drivers right now so much so that even Adrenaline is being rejected by it and AMD just released it for that purpose.

I might try uninstalling all of my AMD drivers and attempt the upgrade before I wipe out this 5 month old build of 10.

Another reason for waiting with Win11............its just too premature , a lot of things must be repaired, etc,etc...........
    I will wait for , at least , a few months .
The stronger your patience the better Win11 you will get..............

There is no real reason to jump into the w11 wagon yet. Not security, not speed.

I am watching some benchmarking videos (synthetic tests, gaming, w10, w11, Linux) and w11 is not the fastest of the batch.

One good reason! Install now and send feedback.

Don't wait for months and then complain

Meh my attempt at a clean boot install also failed so there's only one way to do this.

" Which bit of your hardware exactly doesn't meet MS requirements? "...........almost all of them !
No secure boot , no TPM at all , CPU i7 Intel Haswell .
32 GB RAM and big SSD .
    Latest Win10 .
Do we have to look at this annoying "news", for , maybe, another 4 years ?? ( dont want Win11 )
