I will now wait till Win 11 does come out next week.
I will do the same. The leaked release I found for Windows 11 is a Chinese one, I didn't want to to bet on it and take a hazardous chance.

    Windows 11 Oh Dear 🤯

When W10 was released I thought it was marketed as the last OS for windows & would simply be upgraded…..maybe I misheard.Just ran the compatibility checker and my CPU is not supported, so stuck with W10 until my PC gives up the ghost. W10 has been good to me, IMO the best OS yet.

I'm not sure why people are so concerned with past statements that Windows 10 was supposed to be "the last OS". What difference does it make what the OS is called: "W11" or "W10 update 15"?

Much easier to drop support for old technology in a rebranded OS than in an upgraded OS even though W11 is still a version of Windows NT under the skin.

For the peace of mind: if it is the "same" OS then requirements are not supposed to change and I should not have to do or buy anything to be able to update to the latest version. Also it would not break compatibility etc...

It would have been a nice idea, but oh well.

I'm anxious to get the first Insider build of 11 to make sure I can customize it enough to get rid of its frilly appearance. Hope it's this week as promised.

At the stage of life I am in now, I am just going to use Win 11 as it is. I know that Open Shell will not work and it seems that MS is trying to limit the ability to change it. I will continue to use Firefox and I hope most of my other programs will work. If they don't I could always go back to Win 10 with MR.

I was aware that Classic Shell won't work, but thought I had read that Open Shell will. If Open Shell won't work, that may be a killer for me since I don't like Microsoft's clumsy excuse for a start menu.

It is very different on Win 11. I Classic Shell still works on 10 but Open shell will not on 11 unless they rebuild it. Win 11's approach is similar to Apple Mac's. Hopefully we will find out this week.
