Initial installation was quick. But when I restarted my computer it took a whole half hour if not more. Anyone else got that problem? It was stuck on getting your computer ready or whatever for at least ten minutes.
Had the opposite. An hour long install and it finished about ten minutes after restart.

All good after fast install, even with momentary power outage!

    Everything seems fine.

Took longer than usual, about 20 minutes.

SFC checked good. DISM/AnalyzeComponentStore found one (1) Reclaimable Package. DISM/Cleanup, quickly took care of that.

All good to go. Wishing well, for everyone.

Yes, I got it when it was a "preview", and no, it wasn't optional!

A little bit late to the party, but everything went fine on both machines:

Update seemed to work properly, but after logging on and going to Settings/Windows Update, I was confronted by a blank page. Clicked on three or four of the other entries, such as Delivery Optimization, they all worked.

Rebooted to see if that would fix the blank Windows Update page; it is still blank.

Looked at Winver to see if anything had been updated, and found that I had moved to 21H1 from 20x.

Opened Control Panel/ Troubleshooting/Fix problems with Windows Update; after that spent some fifteen minutes looking for pending restarts, cancelled as it seemed to be stuck. Reran it, it immediately stated that it could not find any problem.

    What do I do now?

Restore your backup and try again. Always the chance you got a bad update. Way too many variables in what you described to even try to start.

If the restore and a retry fail, then start digging.

Updated this afternoon, normal time for the update from start to finish. SFC and DISM found no errors. It's now wait and see.
