    my point @CountMike is that my other 10240 is set to expire in Jan 22, 2016. They sre both from Preview.
    @badrobot, it's the second screenshot in your post that concerns me - the one with partial product key -T83GX. Just trying to figure out where that comes from.

    Hi there

    If you TEST this -- back up first so you don't lose your current activations(s).

    Cheers

    Not to worried about that. It would be the Education version I'd reinstall, just to see if I have to enter the key again. Even if I do, I'll just enter the same key I originally installed with. I have 5 unused 10 Pro keys as backup anyway. And 5, Windows 10 Education keys too. Assuming 10 Pro no longer activates, which I don't see happening. If I have to enter the key I'll just add a PID.txt file to the thumb drive so I never have to do it again.

    I only get my information from this forum with regards to latest builds and product keys. You may be right that it is a KMS key but I think when I used the *****-36VVT key it was already blocked and won't activate and this T83GX is the one that I found here that worked. But there are some "** Illegal KMS REMOVED **" posts on this forum so I guess it's from those posts.

    What I don't understand is how some are getting KMS activation (GVLK)... is this due to unofficial ISO's containing an activator perhaps?
    In the flurry of excitement around the release dates of the insider RTM and then the GAbuild 10240, W26XX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-T83GX was everywhere, with instructions how to use an Indian KMS server - even on Tenforums, until the posts were weeded out - I reported several to the mods myself. I doubt if any of these postings were done with malicious intent, just folk getting carried away. I'll post a snip shortly :)

    There is still a post with that key on the forum: Now on Windows 10 .. and preparing for a future clean re-install - Windows 10 Forums.

    @Fafhrd.. good on ya bud :)

    Aside, I expected a lot more KMS deactivation issues at EF, fortunately we did not get that many - let's keep it that way

    I use Burncdcc without having to worry about how many times it's installed. It's from Terabyte Unlimited.com and they have quite a few freebies. It's older (last updated in 2012), but it gets the job done. For "burning" ISOs to flash drive, I use Rufus, which is also free and doesn't care how many times you use it. :)

    I've never had the need to use anything else, but then I don't burn audio or video, which I figure is more complicated than what I do. :)

    The only thing I have that "limits" me are my Nuance programs, but all I have to do is call them and I get more "activations". I just have to tell them I beta test and that I really do need to install that many times.

    <Snip>

    I've had to call Microsoft a few times, but have never had to call because I upgraded the RAM. What is nice is that every time I've had to call, I was taken care of in a pleasant manner and got my new activation.

    Guess I'll find out when I finally get the guts to add my SSD drive to this computer. :)
    I only had to call in that one time for the first build since the beta and RCs went onto an older Vista build and I had just gotten into a new Antec 900-1 case when the supply in the case took the MB along with it when it didn't to retire? So I planned out a case that would see larger drives and more of them to boost the capacity overall and then found the way the top panel for power and reset was a bit awkward until spotting the next 900-2 model. The memory first used look good but the height of them was higher then usual for the performance memory of that particular brand(Mushkin Enhanced) where it bumped up against the large actually fanless cpu cooler and those had to be replaced. When tosing the Kingston HyperX equivalent the Invalid Windows "This may be a counterfeit..." watermark suddenly appeared.

    As for getting iso images onto flash drives as well as dvds I had the same 2009 download for the trial version of UltraISO which still runs like the day I downloaded it! The other software however was paid for and NeoDVD is extremely particular in only allowing a couple of uninstalls to reinstalls before you have to buy it all over again! But their program offers the ability to edit the length of video captures at both ends not just one end of the video before you burn to disk for vcd or dvd project. Now 10 is on and I will likely have to find a new program in order to keep the present install on 7.
