Or if they can buy Classic Shell, that's the best thing they can do.
Oh dear God in heaven NO..!! All they would end up doing is screwing it up royally. It was their disaster with 8 that really gave rise to Classic Shell in the first place. No, I think clueless types at ms central ought to keep their hands off Classic Shell completely

Lol, been using the Classic Shell Start Menu on 7 for years. It was just a necessity for many on 8

They could do it better, if they wanted to, IMHO. It all comes down to "do they want to". I really hope they do a Touch, non touch, split that is a selectable option. I get that people want the old antiquated start menu. I hope they get what they want, as long as I can turn it off if I want.

I like the start menu looking again like windows 7 for the pc and the laptop but for the a tablet I do not see any reason for it because they are so small to begin with, more space on the desktop is needed and having the start menu there takes up too much space

I have little faith in Windows 9, I think they will have a Start menu, cut out more Windows 7 type tools, push Bing to increase profits and try to incorporate their Cloud services. I doubt Windows 9 will be the savior people are hoping for.

I no longer have trust in corporate America, starting with Microsoft. They are little more than pimps trying to peddle their wares.

    Hi there
If you ever need POLICE, Medical services, education, transport, pensions or even FOOD how are these paid for -- People in a place like NYC can't obviously grow their own food etc. Thank goodness we HAVE businesses -- how would we have computers (or even FOOTBALL - the game with the ROUND ball) without some people inventing things).

I remember the days of dialing in with text base services using a HAYES 1200 Baud MODEM -Thank Goodness the internet (and computers plus hardware) has improved beyond all recognition. What about movies / music -- these have to be paid for -- all these people ranting on about "Corporate America" or similar -- how do YOU live. That's not to say there aren't questionable practices -- but Jails actually are far more filled by people convicted ofviolent crimes and things like drug taking than by questionable practices by Corporate business. Wall St while not by any manner 100% perfect has very strong regulations and its not unknown for the FBI to march in right to the CEO's offices of some big businesses and TAKE THEM AWAY IN HANDCUFFS in full view of all the staff.

Without Windows I shudder to think of how we'd be managing most of our daily lives --Linux is there of course but it was Windows that bought computing within everyone's reach.

I'm totally sure Windows 9 will be quite decent -- even Windows 8 has been improved -- businesses aren't infallible and they do make mistakes --but often they do try and fix them -- without the pressure by stockholders mistakes might NEVER get rectified.

    Cheers

I'm not trying to words in anybodies mouth.
Don't all companies where ever they are located try to pimp, promote, sell, peddle their wares?

I'm trying to understand the statement below.

PS: I don't like Bing or Clouds either. I'm quite sure Microsoft will still try to sell it to me. That's called doing business.

A pimp exploits their "employees" and misrepresent their intents, all, just to make money. The term "Made in America" no longer means anything. I suspect if you look at Microsoft's employee make up, though they are classified as an American company, that 80 percent or more are employed outside of the US. Why? exploiting a people. Why was there a housing bust, why was T-mobile over charging millions. Why has Microsoft been sued so many times. Why was Goldman Saks, Chase Morgan, Bank of America the centers of scandal's? The list goes on an on forever, I no longer believe in one-tenth of what is advertised as fact, by the so-called corporate America. I think, probably ninety percent or more, of Corporate America has turned into a cesspool of deception, with no sense of moral obligation. That is in part why I refer to them as pimps.
