just noticed the update and tried to install it but failed twice... have never had issues updating Win 10, but I got System Thread Exception Not Handled. I noticed some old posts about it and I have the latest nVidia driver. Guess I'll wait til they fix it.

Ok, mitigated external, according to MS, checked Nvidia site no new driver, checked Microsoft Catalog, no newer driver other than 342.01 for my 9600M GT.
So, question is, how this issue is mitigated???
EDIT: Just noticed this on the article:
"Next steps: Microsoft is working on a resolution and estimate a solution will be available in mid-August.''
Let's wait and see.....

Yes indeed. Just shows you how little MS checks things out before releasing them. Their answer would be, get a new machine....well I hate to tell them not everyone can afford that.
I wouldn't care so much if my PC was rubbish, but 10 years ago it was the pinnacle of gaming machines.

Also since NVIDIA has been brought up I have the latest NVIDIA driver 451.67.

Also the update numbering is equaling confusing...
Windows 10 1903 = May 2019 update
Windows 10 1909 = November 2019 update
Windows 10 2004 = May 2020 update
Not really, the YYMM number is the date that MS committed to the code in the Insider release preview ring for the major build number that would be released, after which any further changes were made by CU and only the minor build number changed. The 'Month Year Update' name was the date of public release.
