Do people prefer Edge Chromium to Chrome by Google and if so, why?

@AllenChicago: I add the "font rendering enhancer" from the chrome extensions...at least on my computer, it seems to render the fonts slightly darker and gives it more of that Firefox look...you may want to give that a try...
Thank-you. I did a Google search, found the Chrome Extension store, then downloaded the Font Rendering Enhancer extension. It's working GREAT! Amazing that the Edge developers allowed such weak/light fonts to be rendered. They must not visit TenForums, or Twitter. Thanks again, Craig.

It's a close second for me but I have lots of Chrome "Apps" (shortcuts) which I would need to convert. Maybe in the future.

I'm on Edge, but I'm waiting until all the syncing is complete before I convert Mum over.

It seems that Chromium is the go-to standard for lots of browsers now.

I've been using Brave which is also based on Chromium, not sure if I will switch yet as I do appreciate Brave's privacy features.

I will definitely try it out though. I am hopeful it will gain some popularity

I had no problems with the install.
Before I did it, last week I nuked all my old Edge favorites and basically reset it to default settings as since the DEV and Beta were out I used them anyhow.

I then exported my favorites from the beta,
    then uninstalled the beta,
and imported my favorites to the finale.

Then check & changed any settings, got my uBlock Origin extension(exported my whitelist for it so I don't need to hit every site again) and was off to the races.

You are very welcome, Allen...If that extension disappeared, i'd have to go back to using Firefox as my main browser....LOL

You would think Google would do something about it...or at the very least, the Edge/with Chrome developers...I even sent them (Edge developers) feedback about it, but so far, to no avail...

I'd prefer to stay with this new Edge/w Chrome as i find that it has very snappy performance and is appears to be much easier on memory than Firefox seems to be...

Installed Edge yesterday without hiccup. Looks and runs fine but doubt I'll use it much as I've been using Chromium-based Vivaldi for a long time and recently went to it also for Android, so the old and familiar now.

The tracking protection built into Edge is basically forcing Google to implement tracking protection in Chrome. So that's a good thing.

But fundamentally all the Chromium-based browsers are tweaked and reskinned versions of the same browser. To me they all feel the same.
