    What's with all the Windows 7 negativity, anyway?

    "RIP Windows 7" "Good riddance" "Die Windows 7, Die!"

    ... when there's tons of people still running Windows XP just for shites & giggles, and that's supposed to be the cutest chunk of nostalgia since sliced bread!?!?!?

    RIP Win7. I will miss the aero effect the most. Win10 shows some remnants, but not as good as the glass
    Every time I update my graphic drivers i have short time this "glass" taskbar, I hope there is some way to get it work like windows 7.

    You can set the transparency using TranslucentTB in Microsoft Store.

    Hi there
    I really liked the Aero Glass (much better than W7's version) and most of all I liked XP Black Luna theme.
    Current W10 themes are a bit boring although I think some can customise a bit without breaking the OS.

    Funny how OS's start off a bit negatively --remember when XP came out --Ms had just introduced activation systems and people called the whole OS as Windows XPENSIVE !!! in spite of the fact it was so more user friendly than probably the WORST OS of all time as far as desktop users were concerned -- Windows NT. Even the hated Windows millenium gave a better desktop experience. XP later became to be so popular that Ms had to extend support for it well beyond it's official "End of Life" and even added a final service pack SP3.

    W7 started off reasonably popular -- especially after the VISTA fiasco -- problem was hardware at that time on the whole wasn't man enough for the job --although if you DID have the hardware it ran fine but W7 really is looking long in the tooth these days -- especially with security and Disk I/O -- compared with even a base untouched W10 most W7 systems run about as fast as a 1 legged dog trying to walk on a perfectly smooth ice pond.

    It's had its time. I won't miss it one bit -- I still have some running XP systems in daily use --there's nothing on W7 that I need any more.

    R.I.P

    Cheers

    Hi there
    @thomaseg1

    no point posting a link if to people outside USA it comes up with "Access restricted" -- also it helps to say at least a few words on what the link is meant to be showing.
