Here we go, now I am in the thick of things, but like many other members of tenforums KB890830 for MSRT is like a broken record and keeps on reinstalling every time one checks for Updates. I will try the solution offered by @RingTailCoon in post # 50.

Same Here ! keeps reinstalling the software removal tool, on all 3 home computers. Everytime I check for updates,.. Along comes the tool again.

After several reboots, on all computers, The software tool finally stopped reinstalling. All appears well at the moment @

Are there any new or unusual errors cropping up in Event Viewer after the update?
