Easy to miss the 1909 optional update.....a little further down on the Update page.
No, it's not that. Of the four 1903 machines I have updated today, three were offered 1909. The Dell was the only one that wasn't.

Edit: OK, it got it now

Thanks for the workaround. MS still needs to pull its finger out and address this. I’ve tweeted their Microsoft helps to alert them. Not that it’ll make much difference. Prob get a canned response telling me to reinstall

Note that Defender gets turned off upon restart.

Thanks, but do I have to re-enable it when the december update arrives? :) Or goes that automagically? :)

Just burned a version 1909 ISO onto a DVD-R using the Media Creation Tool.

Your updates may go faster with USb install.

Windows Update Mini Tool also works for hiding updates.

I don’t think you’ll need to re enable as MS will probably do a new KB. You’ll only be blocking the old KB

aside from this MSRT debacle I wish all feature updates could be like this! Totally unobtrusive. No treating ones machine like it’s a new pc. Respecting all my settings such as keeping system restore switched on! Alas I suspect this is just a one off
