    ePub support ended in Microsoft Edge
    Microsoft Edge has ended support for e-books that use the .epub file extension. For more information, see Download an ePub app to keep reading e-books.

    This is something I really regret! Because for me edge was the best epub app I could find for windows. I tried many including calibre and adobe. But non is as good to my taste and above all I miss the possibility to use the dictionary by simply selecting a word in edge.

    I wonder if I there is anyway to continue using edge (Install an older version?!) as I never use it as browser!

    Do you have Windows Update service disabled?

    No, I don't, but I use WAUM (Windows Update Automatic Manager), a little third-party app to manage Windows Updates. Even after temporarily disabling it, I still couldn't get the updates.
    @OilerNut,

    In a way, I think you were right. I finally got it installed (KB4522355). What I did, was to run Dism.exe ...for checkhealth, scanhealth, restorehealth and lastly sfc /scannow. Every each one of them ran fine and no integrity violations with sfc /scannow. After that I made sure Windows Update was running in "Services", went to the MS Update Catalog to get the update. From there, downloading & installing it was a breeze.

    The problem, according to my understanding, was that disabling the third-party app (WAU Manager) didn't automatically re-enable Windows Update in "Services" and that's probably why I was having this error message. I knew it for a while and it is a fact that MS doesn't like third-party apps to mingle in its way of doing things. Now, case in point:

    Hi there
    @rezpower

    as I posted earlier in this thread - simply download latest version of Calibre -- improved a lot these days-- Free and works on both Windows and Linux -- excellent e-book management system -- also converts between various e-book formats so you can use for example epub e-books on Kindles etc.

    Cheers

    +1 for Calibre, it is a fantastic free program, I use it to convert e-books for my Kindle, and to read just about ALL formats of e-books on my PC

    The Calibre book management system has been great for years, the reader not so much. Maybe the new version recently released will be better.

    Update .449 sound output destroyed

    Just when I had managed eventually to get a semblance of order from the previous update , this update shows no sound available after reboot many times !!

    There is however an entry for Realtek sound for Asus Z390E in Device Manager .
    All trouble shooting proves negative ………

    The bad old days of Windows 95/ 98 are looming ever so closer !

    My experience is a flawless update to 449 with no issues apparent so far including sound. I did however receive the "Autopilot" update...but...I ALWAYS snap an image prior to any updating. After a rollback, I proceeded with the update again the next day. No "Autopilot" and no problems whatsoever.

    But then, I try to keep as "plain vanilla" a system as possible - precisely to avoid update/upgrade issues. My experience has been that "most" of the MS updates/upgrades do, in fact, work just fine...IF...your system has not been excessively "tweaked" or overloaded with "security" software.

    @Brink, @Bree, @Calling all gurus - I have never enabled BitLocker in any installation or upgrade process, yet after this CU, I find my system and data HDDs all with the unlocked-padlock-and-yellow-warning-triangle icon indicating BitLocker enabled, but not turned on. Has anyone else had this sort of experience?
