Try the registry hack which was posted earlier on this thread. Worked for me. I'm able now to autologin with a local account which works for me (and no longer mad at M$ for changing netwhiz)

Restart wasn't working for me also and reg hacks didn't fix the problem but when I got home from a midnight shift found a few small updates Windows Intelligence update among others waiting to go in. They went in OK and now restart works like it always does.

    Try this method

Fix Windows 10 Build 18999 Hangs on Shutdown and Restart

The alternative method worked for me

Not much help to you folks but I've tried both restart and Sleep without issue. In fact I always do a restart before making the days final differential backup. Strange that such a lot of users are having this issue... its usually me that ends up with something weird.

I'm just the opposite...I have had few problems and have installed each build. This time I have the Power Off problem. I'll try the
Winaero fix tonight that is listed in Post # 83. The fingers are crossed.

    WEK

Edit: I used all of the features listed In Winaero and the only one that worked is calling up the User Lock Screen (press Win + L) and choosing Shut Down. That seems to work.

Here's the progression of a VMware WS 15.5 VM (Windows Professional N) from 1809 to Slow to Fast. VMware is running on Kubuntu 19.10 with kernel 5.3.4-050304-generic Why that kernel and note 5.4rc2 is not relevant here.

Anbody (Kari?) got something similiar in Hyper-V?
