I just did a UUP Dump for this version and by the time I get ready to mount and"run" it, WU has already begun and gives me an error something to the effect that it is already running. So what method do you guys use to disable WU for a short period? Just unplug the either net cable? Assuming the network has to be plugged back in after the the install begins. Last time I tried it and finished, windows update still showed WU wanting to download the update.

Installed first try, took a little less than an hour, and was overall uneventful. Just how I like it.

Still creating Restore Points with it disabled, and resets Permisions & History in Settings/Search.

Will post back here if i find anything else that seems worthy of discussion.

    peace

No need to 'Disable' WU, if you are using W10Pro, just click on Pause WU for 7 days.
Run your ISO, then after reboot WU will clear the Pause and resume as normal.

I agree, when I read "Pause WU for 7 days" I took it for what it says. I later discovered that I could undo the pause. If I did nothing, it would undo it automatically 7 days later??

So the first UUP ISO failed with this cryptic message and reverted. Immediately re-mounted the iso and did setup once again and this time it worked without issue. What would cause it to fail the first time and pass the second, both from the same ISO. Time to call it a night.

After the 2h5min downloading and installing phases the rebooting to finish the update went at the usual pace. No hiccups seen yet, but I haven't given it a thorough workout. Not able to sit at my desk for extended periods since an operation, so in my recliner chair with SP6 on my lap.

Same here, Keith. I got busy and forgot about it. Probably late tomorrow afternoon.
