By in-place upgrade install only (i.e. Windows 10 reinstall) apparently at the moment - which I find abhorrent.

I'm getting a different error (0x800f0988) on one of my PC's.

Busy now doing an in-place upgrade using the updated install.wim I made this morning.

I understand, was just offering alternatives to get a way to run it, if you were using search to find it.

Side, note.... after the restart of this update, I had 247 error is Event Viewer all relating to "search" something. Like it just totally threw up on itself. Cleared the entire Event Viewer history, rebooted twice, and all cleared up. Bizarre indeed.
Search works for me but I can select the options through keyboard in it. Mouse just doesn't recognise the options as an executable.

    Fix here:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search]
    "BingSearchEnabled“=dword:00000001

    Restart pc enjoy 
I've now restored all the recommended settings in Shutup10 except for the Bing one and all is well,

Update installed smoothly for me but now search does not work - it just stays blank - and Cortana is using a lot of CPU. I uninstalled the update (KB4512941) and all is back to normal.

    Blank search

    Attachment 245130

    Cortana using CPU

    Attachment 245131
For me, the search works but mouse doesn't work on it.

Those who are getting update errors, is fast startup enabled for you? if yes, disable and try again. All updates install for me since the time I disabled it.

I would like to follow your settings seeing that yours seems to be working well. Can you post exactly what options you are setting in shutup10 maybe a few screen shots. Would help a lot. Thanks

The highlighted one in the last pic is the one. I have also as a preference disabled people icon on the taskbar, otherwise it is the recommended settings from the Actions menu.
