You do need to worry after years your hardware is unable to handle all latest upgrades. Don't you need to buy a new machine with latest Windows?

Yes, you would have to buy a new machine with windows 10 on it.
I think this would mostly be true for lap top owners as its not easy to change all the part's inside of it.
If you have a desk top, you basically have no excuse to buy a whole new machine as
everything inside is easily replaceable.

I've been using my current machine for over a half a decade which came with Windows 7 Home Premium, upgraded in 2012 to Windows 8 and to Windows 10 now.
Half a decade, three or four amazing OS's, all for the lump sum of about 40 bucks! That's a helluva deal!
(But I bought Windows 10 anyway!)

Here's ZDNet's writeup about the Windows 10 license for consumers.I would suggest that every of us to buy a full retail windows 10 key now or later at ON SALE price if possible. If windows 10 is the last version, I wonder that MS will still sell the current prices.
I believe I gave pricing for full Retail versions and said the OEM version can be had for a little less. So, yeah, I know the difference between OEM and Retail. :)
It would be nice, but I just don't think it's likely that Microsoft will be putting Windows 10 full version on sale any time soon, since they've already given everyone who has a qualifying copy of Windows 7 or 8.1 a free upgrade. Most likely anyone who will need to buy Windows 10 (whichever version they choose) will be required to pay full price.
