Wow, you're that worried about it???
Aren't you worried about not having the latest security update for your PC?

Yes I backup my files, but it'll be very hard for me to search around my PC's files looking for files that are "missing" after I install the update...
Snafu with 1803 was limited to files in default or relocated Downloads folder. Only catastrophic upgrade failure can kill everything despite windows ability to revert to earlier build if this one doesn't succeed. There's always a concern that system disk may die or otherwise be incapacitated so full system offline backup is only guard.
Except for printing or otherwise saving file lists before and after and comparing them , I don't know of any better way to see what changes were made or if anything is missing after an update.
Sorry, I don't have the time or patience to read the entire thread so I hope I'm asking in the correct place. In the WU section, it says version 2004 is on the way but my computer is not quire ready for it. Once it's ready, you'll see the update.
What does this mean? Is there something wrong with my computer than needs to change? I click on learn more and there are no answers.
Thanks for any clarification and again, sorry if this has been asked already.
In keeping things simple, it basically means Microsoft has flagged your machine as having "potential" issues with the "new" update, not that there's really anything wrong with your current configuration.
With that, and this goes out to everybody, keep a look out for new drivers and software patches coming down the line in support of said new update.
Peace:)
Thank you. I hope the drivers and software are coming from WU because HP stopped updating my machine a long while ago. There update page still shows W7 as the operating system for my Pavilion. The only way I get updates now are from MS and WU.
