    Try using WUinstall.com software.

In the past, when Windows Update got stuck, I used this program to install the updates and this has always worked and fixed my problems with Windows Update. (On the website, at the bottom, they say it's Windows 10 compatible.)

Most of the time, it's just a single update that's troubling the system, and by installing it through WUinstall.com, Windows Update works fine afterwards.

To all having Win 10 update problems with or without error codes, try this link Windows 10 upgrade and the 0X80246008 error - Microsoft Community Read the 1st ANSWER with the blue 'PA' box carefully. After I did this suggestion, ALL of my Windows/Defender updates and the apps started running with out any problems. It has been a couple of days now and I continue to get updates as needed (automatic or manual) for both Windows and Defender and the apps install and run fine as well. Good luck and have a great evening! :)

    It's very easy.

    Open a command prompt (admin).
Go to the folder/map where you unzipped the program
    Type: wuinstall /install

And wait. Sometimes it can take some time before it starts working, this is because it needs to check your system first to know the things it needs to download to install.

PS: use wuinstallamd64 if you have a 64bit Windows version.

Than I'm stuck as well. This program has always saved my bacon.

The only other thing you could try, was that other solution someone mentioned here.
