There are some Photoshop functions (3D etc) that just won't run unless you have a qualifying GPU.
Oh, I've never used such advanced features. Would an Intel iGPU with proper drivers be enough? I mean I can run Minecraft with surprisingly high framerates on Intel 515 GPU on a passive cooled 5W CPU, so I see no reason why one would need a beast of a GPU for Photoshop. ;-)

Photo and Video editing take a lot of system resources, the same as gaming would. So, if I were doing a lot of editing, I'd probably want the gaming type machine too, because it can handle more than a typical machine.
Oh, ok. We were talking about MS blocking certain CPUs, and I didn't get the connection.

Thanks, modern iGPU should be fine then as long as one can configure enough VRAM.

Yep, we got a bit sidetracked.

Had my 12 year old Dell Inspiron on RP since it had difficulties with other Insider builds last spring. Went to Slow a week ago and it is now installing 18342, but not very quickly. Well it is 12 years old, and usually runs fairly fast. Only concern is drivers but I do try to keep them as current as possible, but some are stuck in years past never to be updated again by manufacturers.

W10 is running, mostly, but my Nvidia driver setting for gamma, brightness, etc. in latest driver have no effect on display which is too bright -- and I can't find any monitor brightness setting in Windows, anywhere, despite Cortana's useless help.

    EVGA gtx1060 sc 6gb
    Nvidia 419.17 driver
    Dell S2417dg monitor
    I5-4690K 16gb ram

Got the same problem. The Digital Vibrance and Hue works though. Anyone have a solution?
